Odin is highest and eldest of the Æsir: he rules all things, and mighty as are the other gods, they all serve him as children obey a father.

The All-Father, Lord of Wisdom and War. Odin’s name itself translates to “fury”, “excitation” and “poetry” and that is the core of His essence. He is the God of Victory, and holds sway over hunting, verse, war-lust and berserkers, magic, illumination, foresight, death, plots and machinations, and He dispenses the Mead of Inspiration to poets from his sacred vessel, Óõ-rœri. He gifted mankind with runes, both sacred and mundane, and the ability to use them for both communication and magical work. He grants glory and madness, inspiration and courage, power and wisdom. He commands the einheriar of his Hall, Valhalla, and the Valkyries that claim the souls of valiant warriors. Lord Odin’s favored weapon is the spear Gugnir, which he uses to claim those chosen to die in battle. He is accompanied by his ravens, Hugin and Munin [thought and memory], and his wolves, Geri and Freki [the Greedy], and rides an eight-legged horse, Sleipner, that is, in itself, symbolic of death. His scent is dry elm bark, amaranth, warrior’s musk, and Odin’s Nine Herbs of Power.

Got this as an Imp in one of my last orders. On me, this smells like a slightly more masculine version of Snake Oil at first until it settles down and the bark and herbs come through. One hour into wear and I can still smell it fairly strongly. The initial kind of vanilla sweetness has completely disappeared and there’s a touch of leather or fur in with the elm as well as a sharpness that’s a bit like ozone.

This is a pretty complex scent but one I probably won’t wear or buy in a larger bottle. But it definitely has a warm, slightly spicy and masculine feel to it that isn’t too overpowering. Especially for someone who’s looking for a male-leaning scent but isn’t a fan of patchouli (which I personally don’t mind, but I know there are plenty of people out there who do!).

I received this as a free imp. Wet, it smells like mint chocolate bark with a hint of freshly turned dirt (in a pleasant way). Dried down, it smells like these particular herbs steeping in hot water: terragon, marjoram, maybe a hint of carraway seeds, and fennel. I’m not sure if I would buy a bottle but I am happy I got an imp of this. I definitely recommend this if you’re into fresh and sweet smelling herbs.

Very nice scent. Sweet and spicy. A warm, addicting fragrance. Loving it.
