in the bottle: cherry cough syrup, specifically the “tussin” type. Not cherry dayquil (yes, I sniffed the ones in my medicine cabinet)

wet: cough drop cherry, sweetness and…something a little warm. before it fully dries, the warmth turns into woods. maybe a little cedar-y.

dry: cherries (real ones! the dark ones), that wood smell, and faint sweet something (like remembered cookies)

aftermath: faintly cherry and almond woods. No more sweetness

At first this was woooah, cherry! The cherry faded super fast, and I was left with a very Tombstone-esque pencil shavings/cedar. Man I wanted to love this so much, but the balance just wasn’t there, at least in my imp. More cherry please!

Where I’d wear this: Camping, hot summer

Received this one as a frimp and loved it so much I bought a full size bottle. It’s rich, deep and woody with an underlying sweetness provided by the cherry and currant. Totally gorgeous. I do need to ‘re-apply as it doesn’t last all day by that’s a small price to pay for something that smells this good.

This is a fun scent! It starts with the cherry and mahogany mixing to become a rich, luscious blossom scent. As it dries, the fruit wins out and it becomes a ripe, dark, and juicy cherry scent. It doesn’t have much staying power though, and fades fairly quickly on me. I like the smell, but don’t want to reapply so often.

I received this one as a free sample, and I NEED to get more. To me, this scent smelled so much like a chocolate covered cherry with only a hint of a woody scent behind it. I fell head over heels!

I’m usually not one for woody scents at all, particularly cedar, but the mahogany in this (with the cherry) is just exactly right and about as earthy as I can go.

Red Queen made me realize how much I like cherry, and how much it doesn’t like me. 🙁

Wet, this smells STRONGLY of dark, stewed cherries, heavy and syrupy sweet. There’s a tinge of wood in the background that adds complexity and maturity to the scent. I was really dig’n it. Then I put it on and POOF, all cherry is gone. It’s like the wood sucked up all the lusciousness, leaving nothing but some desiccated kool aid powder to remind me of what could have been. I’m left with dark, oily wood and smell like an antique shop for the next 2 hours.

I’ve read some reviews that said this smelled like cedar, which tends to go bad on me, but to my nose, the mahogany has a darker vibe. Still, I wonder if maybe that’s why this didn’t work for me. This could be a truly unique and elegant scent on the right chemistry though.

On me it smells like lacquered dark wood furniture sort of like an old library, with a hint of smokiness which I believe might be the current playing with the lacquered scent and a freshly picked bowl of cherries. The cherries and the current are not the dominant scents, kind of stay in the background.
It is a fun scent, not particularly fresh or fruity, I would see myself wearing it while visiting an old castle. It has no staying power on my skin, hence the 3 stars.
