Lotus flowers, it turns out, have a very sweet floral scent. The incense grounds it nicely and prevents it from going over the top with the sweetness. I approve of this combination. Florals are hit or miss for me and I find I tend to put them into three categories. Ones I love (typically white florals or rose florals), ones I like on other people but wouldn’t wear (most of the sweet florals), and ones I hate (heavy, overpowering florals). This one is in the middle category for me. The combination of flower with incense is lovely and it definitely grounds the floral scent and prevents it from being too girlish…adding an adult sensibility to the scent. That said, it’s still a little too sweet for me. Floral lovers should definitely try this scent. I wholeheartedly endorse it. People who don’t always work with floral scents be aware that this is a sweet one. I’m giving this imp to my mother, who is a floral lover and adores it.

My standard day-to-day and night out scents are Dragon’s Milk or Dragon’s Musk and O respectively, but I tried this one because I wanted something different (not vanilla-based) for work. The description and name of this one are spot on, and when I smell it I see beautiful flowers in dark and ancient places. It’s floral but not TOO floral, with a hint of incense; I’m not one for floral scents in general, but I really like this one.
