   When I first put it on, it smells very sweet and fruity. Like fine maraschino cherries. Then as it develops the deeper notes from the patchouli and the florals add a softness to the sweetness. It smells a bit like white musk, but that comes from the attar of rose, which can read headier against sweeter scents. This is a complex fragrance. On the dry down, the rose becomes more prominent, which is something I like. I agree with C-J-Allison, it’s feminine in a mature way.

   This is a fascinating scent! It smells boozy in the imp, and on skin, you definitely get the booze notes first. Syrupy port smells rich and inviting. There’s almost a dark chocolate quality going on in the background, it makes me think of artisan cherry liqueur bonbons. In time, the scent becomes slightly powderish, with the sandalwood serving to give it a solid, warm, strong quality. This is feminine in a mature way. The rose comes through towards the end, an almost…savoury?? rose/berry scent made sweeter by the wine notes. This fragrance pairs well with red lips and a well tailored suit.

   I didn’t like the smell in frimp, but of course once applied it blossoms. The most prominent notes to me are sandalwood, & juicy, mouth-watering Pinot Nior. Really had such depth it was like almost taking a sip of something sweet, slightly tart, & boozy. Kind of picking up the attar of rose & jasmine at the end. Will gladly study this scent more as I become even fonder of it.

   Gloame – September 20, 2017

   Grape? Rose? Grape-y roses. I can’t decide if I love this or hate it. As it dries, the grape goes more wine (thankfully) and there’s this really unusual mix of dry rose and jasmine. Rose is usually a death note for me, but I love jasmine. Here, the rose is really working and I think I like this a lot. Maybe not enough for a bottle, but I’ll keep the imp.

   Where I’d wear this: A long, dark walk home in a women-kicking-ass movie

   Rachel – November 27, 2015

   I feel like I should be wearing this while gliding around a palatial mansion in a floor-length, fur lined lace robe. This scent is Gloria Swanson in a bottle. To my nose, it’s a sharp yet creamy floral that is all Luxury. The Obsidian Widow is a commanding lady, so a dab will do. ‘Love this scent.

   This is a great blend, and the notes combine in a really satisfying way.

   In the imp, the pinot noir note seemed overpowering. Wrong! Once on, the pinot noir quickly becomes a well-blended and subtle part of the whole. The dark myrrh, red sandalwood, black patchouli, night-blooming jasmine, and attar of rose are all in there, but they’re dancing together.
