And it was then that Nyarlathotep came out of Egypt. Who he was, none could tell, but he was of the old native blood and looked like a Pharaoh. The fellahin knelt when they saw him, yet could not say why. He said he had risen up out of the blackness of twenty-seven centuries, and that he had heard messages from places not on this planet. Into the lands of civilisation came Nyarlathotep, swarthy, slender, and sinister, always buying strange instruments of glass and metal and combining them into instruments yet stranger. He spoke much of the sciences – of electricity and psychology – and gave exhibitions of power which sent his spectators away speechless, yet which swelled his fame to exceeding magnitude. Men advised one another to see Nyarlathotep, and shuddered. And where Nyarlathotep went, rest vanished; for the small hours were rent with the screams of a nightmare.

Brooding, yet electric: the scent of buried secrets, roiling nightmares, the essence of the Crawling Chaos, the Father of Knives and Locusts, the Hunter in the Dark. This is the blackest of ritual incenses charged with flashes of ozone.

The description says it all it smells like incense of an unknown providence. I love how gender neutral to slightly masculine it is. I need it to be back in stock someday. I’m greedily hoarding my last bottle purchased about 5 years ago

This scent is perplexing to me as I WANT to like it out of fondness for all things Lovecraft, but it’s just not for me.

Out of the imp and wet on my skin it smelled like nutmeg. Interestingly it turned very sharp, smelled like straight soap for a while, I couldn’t really stand to smell it. Dry, I definitely feel like one of the other reviewers were spot on with lemon and cedar. Very crisp scent.

I bought this for me initially, but it ended up smelling so much better on my husband. The lemon verbena type smell was too potent on me, but on him it smells like woodsy lemony incense. It really is a good daily scent for him. I do like it a lot.

This came as a frimp for me. First off, what an awesome description. In regards to the actual scent, it’s just as interesting as described. At first I get notes of unsweetened cocoa and lemon. Further on are the incense notes. It definitely has a sharp quality to it, but whereas most zingy scents are either cold or very fruity, this one is very warm. I feel like the arm I put the fragrance on is radiating heat, not literally, but figuratively. The only downside is that I find this fragrance much too masculine for me. Great for if you want to channel a powerful Egyptian sorcerer.

This was a frimp added to my order. I put it on one wrist to try, and within seconds was practically glued to my wrist trying to huff the scent. It’s so amazing, it’s almost perfection. Wet, it’s the darkest resinous incense you’ve ever smelt with that ozone leaking out around the cracks of where that resinous scent doesn’t fill and hints of something like lemon come out. When dry, it sweetens a bit and a scent similar to lemon candy comes out a bit more, although the resinous incense takes center stage. It smells utterly delectable in a completely non-foodie way, and the scent seems unisex because of how dark it is. The turn towards sweetness makes it slightly more feminine, which I like, but I don’t think this would occur with very many people.

In the end, it smells utterly diabolical in the best of ways and I’ll be purchasing a full size of this whenever I’m able.

My all time favorite fragrance. I love this so much and I’ll wear it forever.

An okay scent. Going on wet it speaks of dark, moonless waters and other aquatic scents. Once it dries on me, it’s strangely…vanilla. Mostly vanilla and ancient, like old books. It smells good on me, but I feel like only certain people could wear this.

  8. Gloame

Warm and lemon-cedar-y. It’ not the most exciting of blends, but it’s a nice solid incense perfume if that’s what you’re looking for. Pretty and ancient-smelling.

    Unisex, warm, wood, spice, lemon.
