Viens sur mon coeur, âme cruelle et sourde,
Tigre adoré, monstre aux airs indolents;
Je veux longtemps plonger mes doigts tremblants
Dans l’épaisseur de ta crinière lourde;
Rien ne me vaut l’abîme de ta couche;
L’oubli puissant habite sur ta bouche,
Et le Léthé coule dans tes baisers.
À mon destin, désormais mon délice,
J’obéirai comme un prédestiné;
Martyr docile, innocent condamné,
Dont la ferveur attise le supplice,
Je sucerai, pour noyer ma rancoeur,
Le népenthès et la bonne ciguë
Aux bouts charmants de cette gorge aiguë
Qui n’a jamais emprisonné de coeur.

Come, lie upon my breast, cruel, insensitive soul,
Adored tigress, monster with the indolent air;
I want to plunge trembling fingers for a long time
In the thickness of your heavy mane,
To bury my head, full of pain
In your skirts redolent of your perfume,
To inhale, as from a withered flower,
The moldy sweetness of my defunct love.
I wish to sleep! to sleep rather than live!
In a slumber doubtful as death,
I shall remorselessly cover with my kisses
Your lovely body polished like copper.
To bury my subdued sobbing
Nothing equals the abyss of your bed,
Potent oblivion dwells upon your lips
And Lethe flows in your kisses.
My fate, hereafter my delight,
I’ll obey like one predestined;
Docile martyr, innocent man condemned,
Whose fervor aggravates the punishment.
I shall suck, to drown my rancor,
Nepenthe and the good hemlock
From the charming tips of those pointed breasts
That have never guarded a heart.
Red musk and sweat-damp golden skin musk with labdanum, golden amber, nutmeg, tobacco absolute, black orchid, and hemlock accord.

Pear always comes through CRAZY strong on me, especially when wet, and I cant say this one is an exception. Good thing I quite like pear, but it really makes it no better or worse than any other perfume with that element in it.

A delicate, silvery scent. The lily of the valley and pear blend beautifully. The perfume wears down to a soft, warm musk. Ideal aromatherapy for bringing some calm to the end of the day.

I was surprised to see the medium reviews on this perfume because I was in love from the moment this touched my skin. I agree with other reviewers that this is heavier on the lily and rose and light on the pear and musk. The overall effect is a divine floral, bright and clear (the lily, I think), with a fresh sweetness (the pear?) and a wild undertone (definitely the rose). It had a solid throw and lasted all day. I couldn’t stop smelling my wrists. Definitely give this one a try.

Oh, I wish there was some pear for me, but it’s all rose and lily. A sleepy, dusky rose. Lots of Lily of the Valley. Smells quiet and elegant, but ultimately feels incomplete to me. This could be due to the imp, which was from a private sale and of unknown age. The pear may show up more in a newer blend.
Where I’d wear this: A garden funeral

From a private sale, age unknown
In the bottle: almost no musk. I can barely scent the pear. The bois du rose has blended and mixed with the Lily of the Valley. If this is aged over a year, it ages beautifully. Definitely reminds me of clear, cloudless nights walking in moonlight.
wet on skin: the white musk is in the forefront followed by Lily of the Valley. I’m not getting any of the pear I recognized from the bottle test. It is a very soft and gentle scent. On me it’s not androgynous, it is feminine.
dry 30+ mins: Everything has faded and mellowed. To me, it’s a nice but boring scent.
worn 3+ hours: the pear ha finally showed up. It is slightly floral. It is a clean and wholesome scent. I get impressions of comfort, femininity and maturity. It brings to mind visions of a light, ivory colored clean kitchen on a clear summer’s day, and you reach into the fruit bowl and grab a ripe pear. I don’t get any “wetness” from this pear scent.
It is a nice scent but not really my personality, which is just fine. I bought it for my daughter anyways. Endymion is like a calm, comfortable ray of summer daylight drifting through the leaves of a pear tree. Not quite the “night time” scent I was expecting.

Wet: Out of the bottle, this scent reminds me very much of commercial perfume – heavily of alcohol, florals (mainly roses), with a touch of fruit.
Dry: On my skin, it pretty quickly and leaves behind lilies and roses with a sweet, fruity note. Light, sweet, pretty, definitely way better than it smells straight out of the bottle. A little too floral for regular wear, but I like it overall.

a soft, sweet pear blend, subdued yet beautiful, and warm, from the musk. just a touch of the bois du rose. like eating a fresh sliced pear on your porch on a warm spring day, smelling the roses off in the distance in your garden. the only slightly objectionable thing about it is that it’s so subtle. but that’s ok, sometimes. for example, it will be nice to wear when i am rocking my baby to sleep. it’s a warm, inviting scent, not overbearing, just right.
