Sed Non Satiata Perfume Oil

Strange goddess, brown as evening to the sight,
Whose scent is half of musk, half of havanah,
Work of some obi, Faust of the Savanah,
Ebony witch, and daughter of the night.

By far preferred to troth, or opium, or sleep,
Love vaunts the red elixir of your mouth.
My caravan of longings seeks in drouth
Your eyes, the wells at which my cares drink deep.

Through those black eyes, by which your soul respires,
Pitiless demon! pour less scorching fires.
I am no Styx nine times with flame to wed.

Nor can I turn myself to Proserpine
To break your spell, Megera libertine!
Within the dark inferno of your bed.

A pounding heartbeat coalesced into scent: demonic passion and brutal sexuality manifested through myrrh, red patchouli, cognac, honey, and tuberose and geranium in a breathy, panting veil over the darkest body musk.

I got this in an imp along with lust. I much prefer this over Lust. Out of the bottle you really get the cognac, honey, myrrh, and sharp flower. I kind of wish the patchouli was a little more prominent. On the skin the sharpness of the cognac kind of fades away to a sweet resin-y scent. Honey and sweet scents really work well on my skin. Flowery scents tend to go powdery on me and the geranium does do that but it doesn’t bother me. The more I wear it the more it grows on me.

The first review here is very accurate, to my nose: Sed Non Satiata is a sister scent to La Petit Mort and O, ranked from most complex to simplest. It doesn’t come across as particularly floral on me at all, at least not in comparison to the bold florals I usually wear. Tuberose can have a buttery, fleshy quality, so I think its indolic aspects just blend in with all the other musks and skin scents going on here. A good perfume for an intimate moment.

Warm, musky, deep scent. Light sharp note buried in there. Another one of the hard to explain BPAL scents I’ve encountered. Sensual & erotic.

This is one where the description is almost completely inaccurate. Ignore everything except “breathy, panting veil”, because that’s what this scent is. And I mean that in a good way. If I were just rating for the scent, I’d have rated it much higher–it’s pleasant, a soft and grounded spice with only a hint of sweetness, rounded out by wisps of cognac and quiet florals… but it starts off very close to the skin and fades exponentially from there. It’s fine if you want to smell nice for about an hour. If it lasted longer on me I’d have probably given it five stars total.

Right out of the imp, this scent reminds me of ambrosia salad. It makes me think of fruity marshmallow fluff. And indeed on my skin, it warms up delightfully. The scent lasts a few hours but sort of dissolves into a light creamy lasting layer.

Sexy, balanced, honeyed floral makes my heart happy. The myrrh and patchouli give just a whiff of incense but the musk and honey make it intimate, sensual. And then full-fragranced geranium always reminds me of spring, and balances it all out so well. Love!

This is lovely! Warm, resin-y floral. I do so love resins, and I love florals in theory, but struggle to get them to work on my skin. Whenever I find one that works, it’s a red letter day. Smells warm, dry, spicy, with an undercurrent of white flowers.

Smells a great deal like Blood Kiss: creamy, spicy, sweet, in that order.

The scent is consistent from the bottle, immediately upon application, and after a few hours. The honey and tuberose make for a sweet, creamy layer, the tobacco provides punctuation, keeping the sweet from stomping all over, the myrrh and geranium lend a green spicy hand, and the cognac, musk, and patchouli round everything out beautifully.

    Truly lovely.

It’s a pleasant sort of soft, sweet, spicy scent, but there is absolutely nothing to distinguish it and individual notss are hard to pick out. It sits close to the skin, but on me it doesn’t last very long. My skin eats it.

Gorgeous blend. My chemistry turned it into liquid golden spice that lasted most of the day. It is what Morocco should have been but wasn’t (Morocco is lovely but gets eaten by my skin quickly). Very sexy and intimate blend.

Similar to O or La Petit Mort. The honey and powdery body musk are the strongest notes, and there’s also a floral component. Just a tiny bit of boozy cognac. After it dries completely, it is a very subtle, pretty, “second skin” type of scent…I like it a lot.
