At first this scent turned me off because it starts off smelling like Pledge, but after about 2-5 minutes, it really aged well, and turned into a lightly citrus-y slightly floral, slightly incense-y scent. Now I can’t stop smelling my wrist!! But as other reviewers have said, it doesn’t have a lot of “throw”; I’d prefer it to have a stronger “base note”, but then it wouldn’t be “ghostly” I suppose! Great scent for springtime, to liven up the old musty winter blues.

On my skin, the citrus note of lemon verbena takes a backseat to a lovely tea fragrance. The jasmine and neroli balance it out but aren’t too intense — actually, “intense” would be the entirely wrong word for this fragrance, which “ghosts” its wearer far too quickly. That’s the only negative for me – not much sillage, and not much staying power. Otherwise, very nice indeed.

This is pretty much what I was hoping Embalming Fluid would be- a soft, pretty green tea scent. It has practically no throw, but at least the jasmine and the green tea don’t take on that sharp, screaming, rubbery quality that scents with those two notes tend to take on once they touch my skin. All in all, this is pretty nice. Not “run out and get a big bottle” nice, but I’ll probably be carrying the imp around in my purse whenever I feel like wearing something clean and springy.
