One can even set up quite ridiculous cases. A cat is penned up in a steel chamber, along with the following diabolical device (which must be secured against direct interference by the cat): in a Geiger counter there is a tiny bit of radioactive substance, so small that perhaps in the course of one hour one of the atoms decays, but also, with equal probability, perhaps none; if it happens, the counter tube discharges and through a relay releases a hammer which shatters a small flask of hydrocyanic acid. If one has left this entire system to itself for an hour, one would say that the cat still lives if meanwhile no atom has decayed. The first atomic decay would have poisoned it. The Psi function for the entire system would express this by having in it the living and the dead cat (pardon the expression) mixed or smeared out in equal parts. It is typical of these cases that an indeterminacy originally restricted to the atomic domain becomes transformed into macroscopic indeterminacy, which can then be resolved by direct observation. That prevents us from so naively accepting as valid a “blurred model” for representing reality. In itself it would not embody anything unclear or contradictory. There is a difference between a shaky or out-of-focus photograph and a snapshot of clouds and fog banks.

A paradoxical scent experiment! – tangerine, sugared lime, pink grapefruit, oakmoss, lavender, zdravetz, and chocolate peppermint.

No cats were mistreated during the formulation of this paradox, or in the process of creating this perfume.

I got this one as a sample and I think I like it even more than the scent I ordered! The scent is hard to place. Citrusy with a hint of something else. Almost spicy background notes but not? I remember walking into an Anthropologie store back when it was cool to hang out in shopping malls. This scent reminds me of that store!

I received this one as a freebie with my order, but it honestly smells like something I would pick out myself! Lol. It reminds me of food, but not in an overpowering “holiday candle store” way. It’s bright, sweet, spicy, and sour, and somehow all the ingredients blend together very well, with a surprising depth that I feel would probably make it smell new and interesting even after a while of wear (or hanging out in your collection, lol). If you’re on the fence about this one because it’s a bit of an odd blend, I’d go for it.

This scent, to me, is remarkably reminiscent of an Amaretto Sour–the sharpness of the citrus hits first, mixing with something mellow and sweet underneath. I think the oakmoss, zdravetz, and lavender are lending the slightest aromatic quality that keeps it from smelling sticky-sweet, though they’re hard to pick out individually. If you want a rich citrus scent with a lot of character and depth, and if you like an Amaretto Sour as much as I do, definitely check it out.

At first, this reminded me of something from my childhood that I still can’t place. Maybe some girly toy set from the early 90s. On drydown, this is weirdly quirky and pretty. I love the lime and the lavender together – not soapy at all. I don’t smell any oakmoss, but I’m sure it’s doing its part keeping this from smelling like Fruit Loops. Overall, this is a lovely, happy summer scent. I’m keeping the imp and may get a bottle.

I’ll surely have to wear this several times to really understand it!

My immediate impression of this delightful scent was, “Fresh out of the shower”. It has this bright, clean, citrus feel with some depth. When the citrus has faded down a bit, I start to pick up the peppermint and lavender. Though I never distinctly detected the oakmoss and chocolate, I know they are responsible for the the depth and dimension. I imagine those notes are what made me think of “shower”, instead of just all citrus. The dry down is light, soft, but also warm.

    Lovely and interesting!
