A tribute to New York’s 21 Club on West 52nd, formerly the speakeasy Jack & Charlie’s Puncheon Club. This is the scent of the perfect martini:

Schrodinger’s Cat Perfume Oil
Select OptionsOne can even set up quite ridiculous cases. A cat is penned up in a steel chamber, along with the following diabolical device (which must be secured against direct interference by the cat): in a Geiger counter there is a tiny bit of radioactive substance, so small that perhaps in the course of one hour one of the atoms decays, but also, with equal probability, perhaps none; if it happens, the counter tube discharges and through a relay releases a hammer which shatters a small flask of hydrocyanic acid. If one has left this entire system to itself for an hour, one would say that the cat still lives if meanwhile no atom has decayed. The first atomic decay would have poisoned it. The Psi function for the entire system would express this by having in it the living and the dead cat (pardon the expression) mixed or smeared out in equal parts. It is typical of these cases that an indeterminacy originally restricted to the atomic domain becomes transformed into macroscopic indeterminacy, which can then be resolved by direct observation. That prevents us from so naively accepting as valid a “blurred model” for representing reality. In itself it would not embody anything unclear or contradictory. There is a difference between a shaky or out-of-focus photograph and a snapshot of clouds and fog banks.
A paradoxical scent experiment! – tangerine, sugared lime, pink grapefruit, oakmoss, lavender, zdravetz, and chocolate peppermint.
No cats were mistreated during the formulation of this paradox, or in the process of creating this perfume.

In the frimp: waaaaaugh – toilet bowl cleaner?
Wet on skin: …it still smells like some kind of cleaner to me, but not as sinus-clearing, and I can’t quite place it.
Dry: I get it now. I can smell the faintest hint of lemon peel and the very strong punch of the juniper from the gin, which I must’ve mistaken for pine cleaner while it was wet; only now, it’s softer and more fragrant than pungent. Despite being softer now that it’s warm, it’s got a bit of a throw on me.
Conclusion: Though I’ve clearly never had the perfect martini (I prefer mine dirty and with vodka), I’d rather drink this than wear this. Maybe on a guy, though?

I got this imp as part of the Booze Imp Pack.
This perfume smells very much like a martini. I don’t get much of the pine scent everyone else reported, but the lemon very sharp. It’s a clean, brisk scent, that I like a lot more that I thought I would. The only problem is that it completely fades away after about ten minutes. This is definitely a skin chemistry problem, though, since I always have a problem with getting any longevity from my perfume oils.

This is a weird one for me. I LOVE martini’s so I really wanted this imp to work for me. So here are my right-out-of-the-mail impressions:
WET: I got attacked by a pine tree.
DRY: I accidentally dumped lemon-scented floor cleaner on my wrists.
At this point I gave up and washed it off as it was making me ill. Blech! And after I gave it two months to steep:

20 MINS. LATER…ohhhh I smell like that fancy french soap you can get at World Market! Not bad.
All-in-all it does not work for me, fresh. I do like it but I am not certain that I would invest in a full size bottle, considering the wait time. If pine/forest scents work for you then this would be a fantastic Summer scent for you.

In the imp, this scent smaller almost medicinal, with the pine notes really taking the fore. Once on my body, it smells of of lemon zest mixed with subtle pine, resulting in a very clean scent. It’s very crisp and lively, and I think it accomplishes what it sets out to do. Rates 3 only because it is not something I think I would normally wear (came as a free imp), but I could see layering it with other scents (I’m thinking Ranger) to create complexity.
