At first I wasn’t sure. The scent was nice, but I didn’t notice anything special. After about 30 minutes on my skin, the spice and richness started to come out in full. It’s a very nice soothing ,yet sexy smell. Definitely ordering a full bottle.

Smelled a little like cola or Dr. pepper in the bottle. On the skin it smooths our and has a very faint fruity spicy smell. Now that I think about it, it reminds me a lot of mulled wine with a little bit of a smooth or powdery linger! I would say it’s unisex airing on the side of masculine, and excellent counterpart to Black Phoenix, their signature scent!.

I was skeptical at first because it *did* smell a bit much like Dr. Pepper right out of the imp. I changed my mind very quickly, though. Once it dried it smelled… sultry. Powerful, but not overpowering. At the end of the day, it faded to a slightly sweet almondy smell. Instant fave. 5/5.

Voodoo smells amazing! It’s a nutty vanilla sweetness, but very natural and rounded. There’s a very subtle sharpness to it that makes it very unique. I feel like this smells friendly in a way. It’s very calming.

The almond comes through the strongest on me. It almost smells like Coke. When I wear it for a while I smell like a sexy incense shop. Spicy but slightly sweet. Dig it.

Immediately, top notes of almond and patchouli.

Drydown is lovely. I wish I could catch the lime in this; I think it would make a lovely contrast. I do catch something sharp, but it doesn’t quite feel like lime to me. Maybe that’s the point. I agree that this could be another version of Black Phoenix, though it’s not coming out particularly masculine on my skin. It’s lingering in the unisex range so far. I do love these almond blends. They’re so warm and desert-y! Just hard to pick which one I like best. Probably still Uruk! Thanks for frimping this to me, BPAL team!

Voodoo is absolutely stunning! I ordered a collection of imps and by far this was my favorite. It lasts all day on my skin and smells like.. spicy almonds and vanilla.

Voodoo is by far my favorite scent that I’ve tried from BPAL. When wet, Patchouli, almond, and the barest hint of lime are prominent. As Voodoo dries, the sweet scents of vanilla and vetivert/pine come forth.

Overall, this scent lasts a long time. I always get compliments on how I smell when wearing Voodoo. I would definitely categorize this as a more masculine scent, but easily wearable by any of the sexes/genders. This scent is reminiscent of an old school Tarot Parlour and Botanica; deep, spiritual, creaking with hidden power and old arcane knowledge. I would recommend this scent in a heartbeat!

You can pick out all of the notes if you try, but overall the myrrh, vanilla and almond in this smells like a mix of cherry cola and vanilla cola on my skin. Sticky-sweet with hints of patchouli. Strange and heavy and I love it.

This was the first scent I ever bought from BPAL, along with Morocco and Tavern of Hell. Honestly, I didn’t really like it. Wet from the bottle, it smelled like chocolate and Dr. Pepper, which turned me off, so I never touched it.

That was over 2 years ago.

This year, however, on a whim, I decided to swatch all of my BPAL to see how they held up with age. OH.MY.GOD. Seriously guys. This has become my favorite scent I’ve owned thus far. Wet, it’s still a bit pungent, but dry on skin it is so balanced; it really is Voodoo. When I close my eyes, it smells like your first few steps into a witch doctor’s hut, on your way to buy a love potion for the lover you’ve been desiring for years. Spicy, syrup-y sweet with a dark side.

I would give this a 5 except the clove note bothers my throat a bit. But it’s really magical and unique and it is both wild and comforting at the same time. The patchouli and myrrh give it depth, the vanilla makes it sexy and the lime and almond add mystery. Voodoo is all badass forest sorceress, so it appeals to my girly side, but I could see it being decent on a man too. smells very natural which I love. Win!

Vetiver, myrrh and patchouli work magic with my chemistry to turn this blend into pure clove loveliness. Sensual and compelling, my boyfriend loved the scent on me. Medium throw and decent staying power. A new favorite to add to the list.

Love, love, love. I find that one of my biggest challenges with essential oils is they fade quickly compared to their synthetic counterparts. For example, at least on me, Jack lasts about five minutes before it is absorbed into my skin and dissolves into the ether. After that neither I nor others around me can smell it. Weird. Anyway, someone complimented me when I was wearing Voodoo and said I reminded them of a spiced latte. I consider this to be a “warm” scent. I’ll wear in the fall and winter since the myrrh and almond predominate on me. This one has good throw and longevity. Definitely a keeper.

I received Voodoo as an imp sample but was particularly excited because it was on my wish list. Sadly it did not work for me. I was hit with the acrid scent of almond absolute and the pine gives a stale note. The scent reminded me of a cheap hotel room where the last inhabitant drank a lot of bourbon and that had been closed up and stuff for some time.

Voodoo is one of my very favorite General Catalogue scents. The oil itself its red and almost all Bpal’s that are red end up being my favorites usually. I find the vanilla, almond and myrrh are the dominating notes on me, but everyone is different so you may find otherwise. Voodoo is a warm, rich, slighly smokey almond-vanilla for me and I love to wear this in the summer. The lime gives it that ever-so-slight effervescent quality also. My bottles of this is about 4 years old so it has gotten very, shall I say…smooth in it’s aging. The ratings on here only go to a 5 but personally I would give this a 10 🙂
