Nephilim Perfume Oil

$6.75$28.00

Dark children conceived from the union of Fallen Angels and the Daughters of Men. According to lore, the angel Shemhazai led a group of his angels to earth to instruct mankind in the ways of piety and righteousness. After a time, the angels became prey to earthly desires and began to lust after the daughters of man, and thus they fell. They instructed their mortal mates in the arts of conjuration, summoning, necromancy and other magickal arts. The fruits of their union are the Nephilim: possessed of superhuman strength, cunning, and infinite capacity, and hunger for, sin. Venerated as heroes by some, vilified by most, the Nephilim eventually annihilated one another in a cataclysmic civil war instigated by the angel Gabriel as punishment for their transgressions.

Holy frankincense and hyssop in union with earthy fig, defiled by black patchouli and vetiver, with a chaotic infusion of lavender, cardamom, tamarind, rosemary, oakmoss and cypress.

When wet there is definitely that unholy smell of Frankincense a-la “midnight mass that goes waaaaaay too long” mixed with something oddly intriguing, can’t quite say what, possibly the vetiver. Not at all unpleasant when first applied. As it dries, there is this undeniable scent of smoldering sweetness- like someone threw fruit onto the last of the winter’s fire. Definitely a cold-weather scent/December Solstice scent.

I received Nephilim as an imp and to me it smells like a “dark” forest where a witch might be roaming, which I attribute to the mix of patchouli, vetiver, oakmoss, frankincense and lavender. While it has a sinister vibe, it also smells clean. I would say this is a pretty inoffensive and unisex scent.

This is an interesting scent that becomes something very different from when it is wet. When wet, it resembles something like Vicks, but dries down to something similar to spiced figs. It kind of resembles a Christmas candle, just blown out with the wax still hot. Smoky, spicy and a bit mysterious. For me not an every day scent, but one I am keeping around for the holiday season.
