Sacred Whore of Babylon

Sacred Whore of Babylon

And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth. An ancient formula that inspires unrepentant decadence, lechery and debauch

Honestly smells like pot to me. Not a bad smell, depending on your preferences, but think carefully about wearing it to work.

I have to confess, I bought the imp because I was intrigued with the name, which the scent totally lived up to. It has everything, it’s a sweet floral with lush, fruity undertones and subtle, spicy hint that grabs attention. It truly is the essence of an expert courtesan in a bottle, very sexy without being too obvious. This is a definite contender with O and Vice for my date night perfumes.

I’ve been wearing this blend for 11 years and love it and still don’t know how to describe it. A sexy vanilla-honeyed-almond that’s dark, slinky and spicy… complex and rich, but I don’t know what I’m smelling, other than that it’s amazing.

Sacred whore of babylon reminds me of a beloved perfume that one of my mother’s friends wore when I was a kid. I loved it and always noticed it when she visited it. Thus trying sacred of whore of babylon was nostalgic…like finding a long lost friend. Many posters on the bpal forum suggested this scent features gardenia prominently. I’m not enough of an expert on determining different notes, but for me this fragrance is a sultry floral…sweet, bold, feminine and mature. The fragrance lasts on me for several hours before fading into a faint barely distinguishable smell. However, it lasts all day if I layer it by mixing it in lotion and then applying to my pulse points.

I inhaled from the bottle….My eyes went wide……and then, “Ooohhh yesss…”
Spices, amber-ish mellowed by fruity, sweet floral notes…..but it keeps it all inside….. both the florals and the spices sing softly, just above a whisper. Maybe a stage whisper…… like glimpsing a passing woman in an ornate sari behind a cut out wooden screen…… So much yes.

I was shocked when I saw negative reviews on other sites about SWOB. It was like we were smelling two different scents. SWOB reminds me of lilies and is much lighter then its name might lead you to believe. I love this scent so much I am wearing on my wedding day.
