+ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE
Perfume oil blends. Presented in an amber apothecary glass vial. Because of the nature of this project, imps are unavailable.
350 bottles were created for each scent, and when they’re gone, they’re gone.
Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab is thrilled to present a series of scents based on Jim Jarmusch’s critically acclaimed film and soundtrack, ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE.
ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE tells the tale of two fragile and sensitive vampires, Adam (Tom Hiddleston) and Eve (Tilda Swinton), who have been lovers for centuries. Both are cultured intellectuals with an all-embracing passion for music, literature and science, who have evolved to a level where they no longer kill for sustenance, but still retain their innate wildness.
Adam, a reclusive underground musician hiding out in the ruins of contemporary Detroit, despairs about human civilization’s decline, and worries about future survival.Eve, who is perhaps 3000 years old to Adam’s 500, takes a longer view of history and is more optimistic. She leaves her home in the ancient city of Tangier to come to his side.
As blood has been tainted by the zombies (humans), the formerly immortal Adam and Eve must secure uncontaminated blood from hospitals or they will perish. Eve’s close friend, Elizabethan dramatist and unacknowledged author of Shakespeare’s plays—Christopher Marlowe (John Hurt), is now an elder vampire who provides Eve with hospital blood. Adam gets his supply from Dr. Watson (Jeffrey Wright), a skittish hematologist who provides safe blood at a price.
Adam and Eve’s precarious footing is further threatened by the uninvited arrival of Eve’s carefree and uncontrollable little sister Ava (Mia Wasikowska). Unlike Adam and Eve, Ava hasn’t yet learned to tame her wilder instincts, and her recklessness concerns Adam.
Driven by sensual photography, trance-like music, and droll humor, Jim Jarmusch’s ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE is a meditation on art, science, memory, and the mysteries of everlasting love.
Jim Jarmusch has long been considered a seminal figure in American independent cinema. His films are often noted for their transcendent minimalism and upturning of traditional genres such as the road movie, western, crime-film, and detective story. Born in Akron, Ohio, Jarmusch lives and works in New York.

I just got this today, and holy hell am I amazed. It’s so….unique and edgy, hexing, I feel like a fearless strapping rogue. I’m afab agender, so having androgynous/masc leaning or just non floral overtly classic femme-y smells is indefinitely my cup of tea. When I first applied it bore a faint resemblance to dragons blood for me. It’s certainly very warm and musky. I’m excited how it’ll turn out later on, I’m waiting on my Jareth bottle and plan on stocking up more on both dreamy specimens of eye candy. I’m sad this is limited edition, it’s truly incredible and evoking. I am surprised at how small the full sized bottles are though for the price. I’m new to BPAL, and I hope they are quite potent and last a while. I don’t wear perfume every day, but this is a scent I know I’ll get hooked on and I don’t want to run out 🙁

I love it, but my skin chemistry dulls it slightly. It still smells really good and doesn’t really need to be refreshed during the day, but it isn’t as rich as in the bottle. However, by accident I discovered that adding a little Grog over it would bring back the woodiness to the overall scent on my skin. So if someone else has that problem, that might be the answer for them too.

It’s exactly and everything the description says. I love it; it’s gorgeous perfume oil perfection. I wish it wasn’t LE. I get the feeling I’m going to be hunting for back ups as soon as I have fun money. I want Adam in my life for a long long time.

This has become my favorite scent! Out of the entire repertoire of BPAL scents, I keep coming bak to this one. It’s not a dark and viscous concoction like some of my other favorites. It is lighter when applied and smells antiseptic, which turns some people off at first. But within a few minutes of being on your skin the perfume metamorphoses into something altogether different. And within hours you have a totally different aroma than when you started. I love the layers and the staying power. People that wer turned off by the first antiseptic note ask me what I have on later and are shocked to learn it is the same fragrance.

It’s certainly evocative. The problem is that is seems to be evoking mostly burnt plastic and wet wool. I can smell some of the nicer scents hiding under there, but I don’t really want to get that close to it.
