Like others have said this definitely has a men’s cologne vibe in the bottle, and is super aquatic. On my skin, the herbal scents started to poke through and they were so pretty! I think this sent is definitely more gender neutral as it dries. After a few hours the tea notes and the ginger/fig were the standout scents, which I really enjoyed. Once you get this on skin, it really becomes a very delicate & subtle scent. I would buy a full size of this for sure.

In the bottle and wet on my skin it is very aquatic, reminds me of men’s cologne. It quickly dries to a light mossy floral with very little throw. I catch whiffs of powder and spice. I don’t care for it on my skin, it ends up reminding me baby powder deodorant and faded cologne. May be nice with a different chemistry.

Beautiful. Green scents often will fade to nothing on my skin, so I was pleased to find this one hanging around. I think the other notes anchored the herb scents instead of overpowering them. The green was balanced by the brown tea note and a hint of sweetness that I think was the fig. The overall impression was very much one of an apothecary’ shop, with herbs and other ingredients drying. Very very pleasant.

This reminds me of walking into a craft store, with that smell of a million different things blended together into one strange scent. Potpourri, oils, fake flowers, a million different things for a million different projects. The overall smell of this is actually nice. It is sweet, but not in a foodie way. Light and summery. It smells like fruit, like florals, like aquatics, like herbs… while not really smelling like any of those things at all. Interesting and pleasant, but not a scent that I ultimately wound up wearing a lot.

This perfume is not something I would typically pick out based on the description, but BPAL tossed an imp of it in with my purchases and I fell in love. I definitely pick up on the tea scent and the rest is all green. I feel like a wood nymph every time I wear it.

A fabulous scent. On application the dominant notes are of wet moss and tea leaf as the scent dries down on the skin the scent of ginger is punctuated by the sweetness of fig and tonka. This scent lingers and ages nicely on the skin. The perfume is not overpowering but herbal and slightly sweet. The final lingering note after a full day of wear is the wispy smell of dried figs. A perfect scent for late summer and early fall. It almost reminds me of wild herb flowers. I even had bees following me around when I wore this scent outside in the garden. This scent holds true to its name as it did remind me of what an apothecary shop might smell like. This also smells rather nice in a diffuser. I will be purchasing a full bottle of this scent in the near future. Definitely a perfume I want to repeat.

Apothecary is pretty accurately named. It has the scent of multiple perfumes, as if you tried on too many at once and now they are all combined into one powerful scent. After a few hours it mellows into something decent, but it has no throw so I can only catch the scent if I put my nose to my wrist. It isn’t bad, just not something I would want to wear.

If you love floral scents it might be worth a try!

This is a fantastic “beginner” scent and I am constantly recommending it to anyone curious of the mysterious world of BPAL but not quite sure where to start.

In the bottle The Appthecary smells much like a typical men’s cologne. Worn, it transforms into a wonderfully layered, subtly warm, clean and inviting scent. Hands down the most purchased scent in our household—used in air fresheners, sachets, or even in lotions or shampoos because it just smells THAT GOOD.

If the scent notes have piqued your curiosity, don’t hesitate & grab an imp—the $4 is well worth it.
