Seduction, sensuality, the Act, and the aftermath all in one. The scent of warm, damp skin flushed with the glow of passion, touched by the luxuriant potency of ylang ylang and myrrh.
Created in honor of the Slavic Black God of the Dead. A nighttime god of grief, evil, chaos and woe, he is paralleled by his twin brother Bylebog, god of light, joy, order, and good fortune.
A combination of three musks, with splashes of dark myrrh, vetiver and mullein.
Carrying bouquet, and handkerchief, and gloves,
Proud of her height as when she lived, she moves
With all the careless and high-stepping grace,
And the extravagant courtesan’s thin face.
Was slimmer waist e’er in a ball-room wooed?
Her floating robe, in royal amplitude,
Falls in deep folds around a dry foot, shod
With a bright flower-like shoe that gems the sod.
The swarms that hum about her collar-bones
As the lascivious streams caress the stones,
Conceal from every scornful jest that flies,
Her gloomy beauty; and her fathomless eyes
Are made of shade and void; with flowery sprays
Her skull is wreathed artistically, and sways,
Feeble and weak, on her frail vertebrae.
O charm of nothing decked in folly! they
Who laugh and name you a Caricature,
They see not, they whom flesh and blood allure,
The nameless grace of every bleached, bare bone,
That is most dear to me, tall skeleton!
Come you to trouble with your potent sneer
The feast of Life! or are you driven here,
To Pleasure’s Sabbath, by dead lusts that stir
And goad your moving corpse on with a spur?
Or do you hope, when sing the violins,
And the pale candle-flame lights up our sins,
To drive some mocking nightmare far apart,
And cool the flame hell lighted in your heart?
Fathomless well of fault and foolishness!
Eternal alembic of antique distress!
Still o’er the curved, white trellis of your sides
The sateless, wandering serpent curls and glides.
And truth to tell, I fear lest you should find,
Among us here, no lover to your mind;
Which of these hearts beat for the smile you gave?
The charms of horror please none but the brave.
Your eyes’ black gulf, where awful broodings stir,
Brings giddiness; the prudent reveller
Sees, while a horror grips him from beneath,
The eternal smile of thirty-two white teeth.
For he who has not folded in his arms
A skeleton, nor fed on graveyard charms,
Recks not of furbelow, or paint, or scent,
When Horror comes the way that Beauty went.
O irresistible, with fleshless face,
Say to these dancers in their dazzled race:
“Proud lovers with the paint above your bones,
Ye shall taste death, musk scented skeletons!
Withered Antinoüs, dandies with plump faces,
Ye varnished cadavers, and grey Lovelaces,
Ye go to lands unknown and void of breath,
Drawn by the rumour of the Dance of Death.
From Seine’s cold quays to Ganges’ burning stream,
The mortal troupes dance onward in a dream;
They do not see, within the opened sky,
The Angel’s sinister trumpet raised on high.
In every clime and under every sun,
Death laughs at ye, mad mortals, as ye run;
And oft perfumes herself with myrrh, like ye
And mingles with your madness, irony!
A gloriously elegant representation of Lady Death. Dry, bone-white orris, black musk, serpentine patchouli and our murkiest myrrh.
Tinkling tiny feet scuttle across a massive oak desk, navigating through a flurry of papers and a maze of discarded books, wires, and bolts. Glistening green venom beads at its chelicerae, and a ruby hourglass flashes from the creature’s underbelly as it begins to weave.
Pinot noir, dark myrrh, red sandalwood, black patchouli, night-blooming jasmine, and attar of rose.

Sweet, but sharp, a complex scent. I’m not sure if “lust” is what I feel, but it’s certainly intriguing. I find myself sniffing my wrists, trying to figure it out. It reminds me of Coca Cola, in a good way.

I’M IN LOVE!!!! This one is sultry perfection! It’s a gorgeous scent that I want to live in 24/7. The four components all play well together and I’ll be ordering a full bottle soon 🙂

I’m a huge fan of patchouli based scents and was expecting this to be more heady and deep. I don’t love the ylang ylang in this, it goes kind of powdery on me. I didn’t like it the first time I wore it but it’s very slowly starting to grow on me. Will probably wear occasionally. Definitely more flowery than expected. Over time the patchouli wears off and you’re just left with a flowery scent. It’s a very pretty scent but not really my jam.

I have had strangers chase me down through stores to discover this scent. People who hate patchouli tell me they can tell it has patchouli in it and even they love it!

I love this rich & soulful scent. I get compliments each time I wear it & I adore the scent myself.

LOVE IT. Feminine, but sexy, not too sweet and girly. I got as an imp’s ear choice and THIS IS ONE I want a regular bottle of! It’s fun, doesn’t take itself too seriously, it’s an up for anything scent!

I fell in love with this right away. It’s so exotic. Patchouli and ylang ylang go together so well and they have always stood out on me. I’ll always have this in my rotation.

I got this as an imp and I have a feeling there’s a bit of aging as the label is a little worn. At first, I didn’t think there would be much to this than the blood red I get from the get go. But I was wrong. This one lasts a long time (which is good) and ever so slowly fades against the myrrh and ylang-ylang. I don’t get the patchouli and that’s a good thing. I wonder how the bottle holds up? If it’s as good as this imp then, 5 stars!

I got an imps ear of this on the search for a signature scent. Musky scents tend to wear the best on me. While I was initially put off by the scent because it smelled pretty strongly of ylang ylang upon opening it, it grew muskier and the patchouli stood out over time once applied to my skin. I’m willing to entertain this one as an option in my search. I love the Fake News scent which has a denser, dewier musk on me as opposed the the lighter more floral musk that Lust has. I’m sad that Fake News is limited edition, but Lust is a good, albeit lighter alternative I’ll consider as a replacement.

I bought this on impulse, but it ended up being one of my favorite summer perfumes. Red musk is predominant, but as it ages I get a lot more of the myrrh and ylang ylang. Incredibly sexy.

Just got a sample of this and I’m absolutely in love with it. It smells wonderful fresh out of the bottle and it blossoms once on the skin. Definitely going g to be in my next order.

Got an imp of this. Very strong wet, but it mellows a bit once it dries on the skin and reminds me quite a bit of a new age shop I used to visit.

Hands down my favorite perfume of all time. I am a huge fan of patchouli, although ‘smoky’ scents do not wear well on me. Lust is the most perfect incense-y blend with a definite hippie vibe while still being sexy, sweet and feminine. I can’t tell you how many compliments I get on this one (even from those who typically HATE patchouli).

On me this is the feminine counterpart of Sin, with floral instead of wood and spice
Greer Muldoon –
This is perfect (for me). Makes me lust after myself. I even add a few drops to unscented lotion to layer it on. Not one negative comment from those around me, just compliments. I love this scent. Love. It.

The name alone sold it for me. Then I looked at the scent notes. They are all favorites of mine. I usually don’t wear musk myself because it is pretty potent. But in this combination with Patchouli, Ylang Ylang, and Myrrh I rather enjoy it. The scents fade nicely on the skin after a few hours and you are left with the remnant scent of carniverous sex on a hot afternoon in the shade of palm trees in a Moroccan Riad. Delicious!

Out of the bottle I do not immediately love this scent, smells sharp and really musky. On it smells a bit peppery and musk is strong, but this fades away in a few minutes. This is a deeper, muskier scent, my skin does well with musk and this smells nice on me. I know that my partner loves the smell of this one a lot, so even if it is not my favorite, people seem to love this one on me.
