2024 will mark The Nobodies’ seventh annual drag pageant, in which 56 competitors of all genders battled through five weeks of events in Brooklyn. What does it take to win in a contest where all the “rules” of an art form are suspended? Over the weeks leading up to the pageant’s finale, reality itself will be pushed to the breaking point.
However, only one may claim the title of MX. NOBODY, winning a $500 grand prize provided by BPAL and a battalion of additional prizes from other wonderful sponsors.
In hopes of rallying future contestants to this cause, here’s a perfume blend aimed at performers and drag aficionados from all walks of life, or anyone who aspires to the judges’ NOPE factor: Newness, Outlook, Passion, and Eugh.
Endless congrats to Diva Baby the 2023 MX. NOBODY winner, photographed especially for the latest MX. NOBODY perfume label by Jessye Herrell.

Weed-smoke and lime-tinged vapors rising from a cauldron of green slime, suspended by cracked leather straps above the heads of an unsuspecting audience.

This is a very clean and sharp scent. The lime is there but when mixed with the linen smell it turns into a soapy scent with a hint of citrus. Again, very fresh and clean. I like it.

This was a freebie and happily so! I tried it on both myself and my husband. On me the lime notes were predominant: line, lime flower, sexy aftershave and a scent like skin rubbing on steel. On my husband it was almost straight to the metallic notes with only a memory of the other scents.

I was most excited about this imp out of my order (Sherlock was unavailable) and it didn’t disappoint in the least. I first detected lime with a hint of metallic sweetness to it. My husband wanted to smell it as well and his reaction was, “Pepsi. Smells like Pepsi.” I forced him to wear some because he wasn’t too keen on the others I ordered and the perfume dried down on him oak first and finished with baby powder. He said he could see my point but he liked it anyway. I love it and it makes me feel a little closer to one of my favorite story lines of all time. Excellent job!

Ooh, lime and… I swear, pine! That must be the tobacco mixing with the lime. It’s a very pretty masculine scent.

Fresh from the imp, this is like a pleasantly old-fashioned men’s cologne. On my skin, tobacco asserts itself, and maybe just a tinge of gunpowder; I would not be surprised if Dr. Watson’s coat smelled like this. 🙂 Now, I have no particular occasion to smell like Dr. Watson’s coat, so I can’t see myself with a larger size of this scent; HOWEVER,layered with the Sherlock Holmes scent (which I reviewed a little less enthusiastically), you get something that must smell very much like the parlor at 221 B Baker Street. For that reason, I bumped it up from a 3 to a 4 (and I might just put a dab of each on and trot out the Jeremy Brett-Sherlock Holmes DVDs for a marathon.)
