A blend of sinuous violet and elegant tea rose: the chosen scent of France’s Demigoddess of Debauch: Marie Antoinette.
The raw, untamable power of chaos. Rosewood, amber, red musk and a dribble of red sandalwood.
As if, with beasts’ eyes, angels led
The way, I slip back to your bed,
Quiet as a hooded light,
Hushed by the shadows of the night.
And then, my dark one, you shall soon
Embrace the cold beams of the moon,
Around a fresh grave, the chilling hiss
Of serpent coiled shall be my kiss.
When morning shows his livid face
Your bed shall feel my empty place,
As cold as death, till fall of night.
Others take tenderness to wife:
Dread gives away your youth and life
To me, to be bride of fright.
Spectral white musk and the heart-stopping chill of sheared mint, fanned by caramel-touched body heat, and the diabolical sensuality of black musk, nicotiana, and sage.
Our signature oil. A dark, languid scent.
Promotes hedonistic tendencies and extreme self-love. You won’t stop kissing mirrors for a month.

Wet it hits me with this super masculine scent, too much for me. It does mellow down and becomes a bit sweeter, but it’s still a pretty sharp smell. On me it fades pretty quickly, leaving more of the incensey smell. If you’re an Asian man or want to smell like one, this might be for you, haha!

This is one of my favorite BPAL scents. It is warm and not too sweet. The cinnamon note is more subtle than in some other perfumes, and well balanced with the other notes, so one doesn’t wind up smelling like a cheap candle. A good scent for late autumn and winter. I have a 5 ml bottle which I purchased in 2007 (I have a bad habit of putting away my stash and forgetting about it), and unfortunately, after 14 years, it is just not the same anymore. The cinnamon note has gone, leaving a warm, soothing, mildly sweet scent, which is still nice enough, but it isn’t the one I purchased. 5/5 new, 4/5 aged.

I find this scent to be utterly intoxicating. It smells so amazing on, a sweetness with just the right metallic sharpness to tone it down. I’ve never had a perfume that I’ve liked more….my only complaint is that I can’t buy a larger bottle.

If you’re not a huge fan of cinnamon (like I am) then this may not be for you. I don’t know if I get blood from it like other people do. The musk and the dragon’s blood really do help balance it. It sweetens on my skin and is almost sickly. It is a dark and warm scent. It doesn’t last very long on my skin and I don’t love how it changes with my skin chemistry. Good for drinking gluvine on a cold rainy day.

I can’t believe I was not aware of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. I believe it was Toxic Tears who mentioned them on YouTube. This is my first order but certainly not my last. This is my perfect scent. I love both dragons blood and patchouli. I would roll in this if I could. I need so much more from the listings, my wishlist is huge. Thank you for the samples as well.

The first scent I ever tried by bpal and also one of my favorites! It is very hard to describe, it doesn’t smell sweet on me at all. It smells dark and warm but with a lightness, like a summer night deep in the forest on a moonlit Clearing. Reminds me so much of guerlains 1912 L’Heure bleue.

I got an imp’s ear of this, and it was the first one I opened up to smell. I should’ve gotten the full bottle, this scent is amazing on me. I love it already.
Definitely going to be buying this one again the next time I order.

Powdery patchouli and florally sweet. I expected this to be spicier than it’s coming out on my skin. It’s very soft and sweet, almost sickly sweet. No cinnamon redness on my wrist, though.
Where I’d wear this: Amsterdam Red Light District, winter

I’ll preface by saying I love Dragon’s Blood, and I enjoy heavier, darker scents. That said. This one is a bit much for me.
In the bottle I get lot’s of vetiver and something akin to dark, clotting blood. On my skin, the DB starts to come out more and the vetiver lends a leatheriness to the fragrance. There is also a distict metal tang reminiscent of blood. To my nose it’s very masculine, but as it dries down it softens some and becomes a murky dragon’s blood still with the slight tang. At this point it seems more gender neutral. I find myself sniffing it frequently, because it’s interesting, but slightly repulsed at the same time. I’ll keep the imp, but I don’t know how often I’ll work up the nerve to wear it.
Animalic, murky, heavy, dragon’s blood resin.

I love this scent. On my skin, it smells of cigar smoke and sex while still staying very feminine. I don’t think I’ll ever wear anything else.

I feel like this scent turns more feminine on my skin. The metallic tones of the patchouli mixed with something slightly sweet combine into a heady whiff of blood. Glad I decided on the large bottle.

On me this blend is not sweet, but deep and filled with raw sensuality. A stunning blend.
