In the imp and when I first put this on it smells like very bitter food. Almost sour. I think that’s the black tea and mandarin. As it dries I can start to make out the tobacco leaf and possibly saffron. I don’t smell any cocoa and I’m not sure I can identify any specific herbs although there are other notes present. It’s overall a bit musky and over time becomes sweeter, which I like.

This isn’t the scent for me, but I can definitely see how it would work for others!

I got this as a bonus Imp Ear and love it. It goes on sweet but after a while on my skin it takes on a smoldering, spicy, almost incense-like scent that I love. Can’t wait for it to be available again so I can have a full-size!

In the bottle, it smells like a bag of Halloween candy. Seriously. I wanted it to stay like that, but it got better. It deepened and the spice came forward. Quite lovely and warm.

Smells so red and yellow, like the last 2 stages of Alchemy.

At first I thought “Lemon!” but no, it wasn’t that at all. When it starts drying down, it sweetens up and the mandarin becomes obvious. It has a resin-y spiciness to it—that dry, desert-y spiciness that feels like it’s been baking in the sun. The tobacco is enough to keep it warm and smouldering, but not enough to remind you of Granddad’s cigar. Tonka is light. Tea is light. Everything still shines through. Beautiful, beautiful blend.

This blend glows. I’m buying a 5ml right now.

Smells like chocolate orange truffles with some dry herbs decorating the top. The red musk isn’t as overpowering as it usually is on me, but adds a warm, musky glow underneath the chocolate orange.

I really enjoyed how the notes mingled together. It mellows out after application but I found it lasted quite a while. This is probably my favorite scent I’ve ever used.

Unfortunately, with my chemistry I am learning that cocoa and citrus notes do not work well on me. Will give to a friend who will be able to morph it into what I am sure will be nice on her.

The Great Sword of War started out sweet – like chocolate and oranges, I liked it.
Then the dry down happened and other scents came out. Now it has a slight hint of incense and floral.

Overall, it’s decent but not a keeper for me. I could imagine this smelling great on the right person though.
