A sultry and unruly blend that emulates the ambient scent of the markets in ancient Bengal: skin musk with honey, peppers, clove, cinnamon bark and ginger.

A lazy, warm deep green scent with a thick aquatic undertone: Spanish moss, evergreen and cypress with watery blue-green notes and an eddy of hothouse flowers and swamp blooms.
At the center of the Garden of Eden stands the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Though modern interpretations of the Bible claim that it was an apple that the Serpent of the Tree offered to Eve, it is widely believed that the true Fruit of True Knowledge was, in fact, a fig.
This oil contains the innocence of the Garden, coupled with the Truth and Erudition found in the fruit of the Tree of Evil: fig leaf, fig fruit, honeyed almond milk, toasted coconut and sandalwood.
A city of mystery, wonder and majesty, said to have been built by order of Gilgamesh. Thick bitter almond and heady night-blooming jasmine with saffron, cinnamon leaf, red patchouli, river lilies, bergamot, fig leaf and the sacred incense of Inanna.
The forks of the road: an in-between place, sacred and tangibly magickal in innumerable cultures and faiths. This scent is dark with mystery, taut with power. A chill twilit garden of blooms over dry earth and mosses, heavily laden with incense and offertory herbs.

A base of honeyed milk with an overlay of epically friendly spices. This makes me feel like I could go on a sweaty adventure and be inundated with lucky circumstances at every turn.
I don’t get chai tea – the spices hit too high in my face for that, whereas chai sits deeper in the throat for me.
Reminds me intensely of a beautiful perfumed paste my mom got at the Renaissance fair when I was a kid – warm, happy memories.
This fades to nearly nothing in about an hour on my skin, so I may try adding a drop to my hair after a shower. Would be great in a scent locket, as well.

Smells like an awesome slightly sweet chai tea, and my skin chemistry brings out the peppery spicy part a bit more which is awesome. Totally recommend.

This literally smells like traditional chai tea. I love it! The only downside is on my skin, it faded very fast (an hour after applying, the scent was barely there). But I do love the scent.

Received as a sample with a prior order and I absolutely LOVE this scent. Buyers beware, however, of where you apply this to. My skin where I’ve applied this has begun to turn red and burn, more so my inner arms than my neck. I’d love to continue using this but it seems my skin won’t let me. BPAL, please consider a sensitive-skin friendly version of this!

Honey is a very strong scent in this. Sweet but not overpoweringly so, definitely smells like a marketplace.

This is perfect for summer nights. I tried it out as an imp and now it looks like I may need to purchase a bottle! It has the sweetness and warmth of the honey and vanilla but the spices kick it into gear and keep it from becoming too sickly sweet and powdery. It brings to mind sun baked sand dunes along a beach. A complete opposite to my currant BPAL fav, Blood Pearl.

Smells like hot, sweet, milky, chai tea!

This scent put me right into a time machine and sent me to a marketplace in ancient India. Very strong, deep, hot, rich and exotic. But might be much too intense and bold for some people.

This is so strong, spicy and fiery that it can be hard to wear, but I still like this blend. The honey is super-sweet on me and gives the whole thing a honeyed spice cake scent on my skin (but not like Cockaigne’s honeyed spice cakes… the spice in this is seriously strong). Honeyed, sweet, intense spices.

Love my Bengal! A spicy, sweet and warm cinnamon out of the bottle. After some time, the skin musk really comes through and helps keep the scent out of “foody” territory given the strength of the cinnamon. I found that the other spices such as pepper and cloves never quite come through on their own; instead they provide a backdrop for the cinnamon to add complexity.

I like it. Sometimes. I like it more now that my bottle has had plenty of time to age. The honey and spice is there (I love the blend, especially the cinnamon notes) – as is the musk. Almost always, anything with a musk goes very badly with my chemistry. This one didn’t do so well on me freshly ordered – but once it aged, it worked much better. I think I’d probably prefer it without the musk, but it depends on the day. The scent doesn’t really linger long, though. After a few hours it fades off.
When I layer it with The Perilous Parlor (LE from a couple years back), the scent oddly turns into a less intense version of “O” to me. I’m not sure why, but I think the effect is kind of cool. I liked the idea of “O” but it was always too strong a scent on me.
I will probably wind up getting this one again at some point, unless I stumble across another sweetly spiced foodie scent to replace it. 🙂

It smelled good in the bottle and amazing on my skin and had decent staying power. Unfortunately, my skin reacted really badly to some ingredient in it – maybe the pepper? I regularly wear Chimera, so it know it wasn’t the cinnamon – and a few minutes after I put it on, I had red welts everywhere I’d applied it that lasted for nearly an hour.
I’d give it four stars for the scent, but I’m knocking it down to three because I appear to be allergic to it. I recommend it if you like honey/skin musk scents, but be careful if you have sensitive skin.

Bengal smells like thick syrup honey, made from spicy flowers.
It isn’t bad – just not my type of scent.
It also faded really fast on my skin.

Strong and spicy. A bit too overpowering to use straight, but used to scent unscented lotion it’s great!
