There was a coldness, it seemed to me, beyond her years, in her smiling melancholy persistent refusal to afford me the least ray of light.
Distant, enigmatic, shadowed: delicate heliotrope and pale rose petals, muted and soft, resting atop a chilly, intimate base that blends white musk, cashmere woods, and a touch of tonka bean.
Perfecti –
Rather powdery but very pleasant. I don’t get the rose on my skin which was a little letdown, if I do they truly are pale. For me it is dominant in (what I have come to learn as) heliotrope and white musk, creating the misty, powdery veil that feels somehow both abandoned and intimate. I think the cashmere woods is absolutely to thank for this too.
I was a bit worried when I first smelled it because it struck me as distinctly feminine and I identify as male* but I’ve actually really grown to love it, finding it very beautiful and a little heady and beguiling and somber. I don’t know that I’ll wear it a lot in warmer weather because I can see it becoming a bit intoxicating in the heat but I enjoy wearing it both at home and out.
