Agnes Nutter Perfume Oil

The mind of Agnes Nutter was so far adrift in Time that she was considered pretty mad even by the standards of seventeenth-century Lancashire, where mad prophetesses were a growth industry.

This scent was purchased for me as a gift after years of yearning, and it completely lives up to all my hopes. It smells like *burning*, plain and simple, like a bonfire or burning leaves, with a lingering smoky smell after the initial shock.

The only downside is that my skin absolutely drinks it in, so I can only enjoy it for a limited time unless I want to waste it. But for that limited time, the smell is phenomenal.

I purchased this with the hope of gifting it to a guy, but it wasn’t the “punch in the face with gunpowder” that I hoped it would be. This scent is complicated.

I purchased an aged bottle and it has changed some in the six months that I’ve owned it, so I am hoping it will continue morphing. I really wanted it to be a strong masculine scent and maybe it will get there, but it just hasn’t yet. Currently it reminds me of when you douse a campfire with water and the beautiful woody scent is gone, and it’s all soggy and not memorable.
