Upon the next stage, a spotlight is focused on a mammoth bronze sculpture of two snakes entwined. Their bodies are wrapped around each other in an intimate embrace, and their tongues touch suggestively. The deep, somber boom of a standing bass leads into a twelve-string guitar’s plaintive moan, and as the music swells, a stunning, statuesque woman steps out from behind the statue, her fierce and regal face in profile. The spotlight dims to a deep amber-red, and shines a dark, sanguine light onto her, tinting her long, wild hair the color of blood. She sings:
Sunday is gloomy, my hours are slumberless.
Dearest, the shadows I live with are numberless.
Little white flowers will never awaken you,
Not where the black coach of sorrow has taken you.
Angels have no thought of ever returning you.
Would they be angry if I thought of joining you?
Gloomy Sunday.
She turns, and abruptly faces left. Her features are coarser, more masculine, and you notice the rough, dusky shadow of an evening beard on the singer’s face. On this side, the hair is cropped short, and as s/he sighs and begins the next verse, you hear the voice deepen to a weathered, sorrowful baritone.
Gloomy is Sunday; with shadows I spend it all.
My heart and I have decided to end it all.
Soon there’ll be candles and prayers that are sad, I know.
Death is no dream, for in death I’m caressing you.
With the last breath of my soul I’ll be blessing you.
Gloomy Sunday.
The singer turns to face the audience, and your senses reel. On the left side, the features are sharp, but feminine. You can see the curve of her breast, the soft fullness of her hips, the arch of her fine brow. On the right, it is the body of an Adonis, muscular and commanding. You see that a thick seam runs down the center of the body, stitched roughly.
Though the vision is disconcerting, the warmth and passion in the singer’s voice swells inside your heart, and you are spellbound. Enraptured, you realize that though the gender is opposed on either side, one soul binds the whole.
Dark, moody, and bittersweet: black currant, patchouli, tobacco, cinnamon leaf, caramel, muguet, and red sandalwood.
Celebrith –
One of my forever go-to perfumes. Sweet but not too heavy, a little exotic and enchanting. At first the amber and coconut are strong, but then it settles down and becomes a little grassy on me. Elegant and not too “loud”, perfect for daily wear. Doesn’t seem to last too long though, or maybe it just blends with my skin.

Well, I’m so in love with Lamia it’s ridiculous. She’s a very wearable goth tropical that takes me to the islands on a black, coconut beach. I’ve had my bottle for some time now and I reach for it often. She’s the perfect combination of tropical and musks. I’m booting this one into my top ten for now. Pure dark bloody hearted vampire passion with a hula skirt spin.

Mixed with my skin chemistry, the scent emits a seductive, rich, orchid filled scent that last for hours on end. It only takes a little on the neck and wrists, but the aroma surrounds the entire body. This will be my new everyday scent.

On me Lamia smells fruity – a little tropical even – and it just radiates sexiness from the vanilla, amber and oude. A perfect year ’round fragrance.

Unfortunately, there’s a skin chemistry thing going on here for me. In the bottle Lamia smells amazing. It’s a perfect blend of the orchid, the vanilla, some spicy scents and sweet fruitiness. But when I put it on my skin almost all of that goes away and I’m left with an overly sweet fruit scent. I smell like Concord grapes with sugar spilled over them. It’s not unpleasant per se, but not what I was looking for, either. And I’m certain Lamia would smell better on other people because it’s fantastic in the bottle. On different skin the other scents probably come out more.

“Intoxicating” is the word I’d use for this scent – the florals and currant mix with the darker, spicier notes to create a fantastically complex and heady fragrance. I keep smelling my wrists throughout the day and get different hints each time. This one is in my permanent rotation!

On me this is a beautiful blend of amber, orchid, peach, and coconut. The other florals are very light, barely noticeable. I like it very much and would give it five stars were it not for the champaca, which is a touch too smoky on my chemistry.
