Bohun Upas Perfume Oil

The Tree of Poisons. Every aspect of this tree is toxic, from the narcotic, lethal fumes that it emits, to its oozing, poisonous sap.

A deceptively tranquil scent: heady fruits, dry bark, and deep green leaves, enveloped by a dark and sinister murk.

Rappaccini’s Garden

Ascending to his chamber, he seated himself near the window, but within the shadow thrown by the depth of the wall, so that he could look down into the garden with little risk of being discovered. All beneath his eye was a solitude. The strange plants were basking in the sunshine, and now and then nodding gently to one another, as if in acknowledgment of sympathy and kindred.

Presented in an amber apothecary vial.

It goes without saying that the Rappaccini’s Garden and Apiary scents do not truly contain poisonous plant materials. Artistic license, my friend. Artistic license.

Took one whiff of this in the imp — vinegar with a berry base — and thought, this is waaaay out of my league. But lo and behold, that pungent wet note disappears within the first minute and becomes a fruity musk that’s quite mysterious and sexy. It’s amazing how quickly it mellows! I think anyone should be able to wear this but it does lean slightly masculine through the dark woodiness. Still not quite my jam, but very interesting.

When I first sniffed my frimp, I felt like I took a deep, stinging whiff of balsamic vinegar. After reading the description I tried it, and it became more floral, but evaporated completely after 10 minutes. Not for me, but there are many BPAL scents that are.

There’s got to be a funky skin chemistry thing going on here with me. I smell the wood scents the other reviewers are talking about in the bottle. But when I put it on my skin that disappears immediately and it becomes a strong scent of peppermint. It’s not unpleasant, but it is odd. Very odd.

I got this to try a dark and bark like scent. This definitely did smell like actual trees, like being near a wet log and not so much a dry one though. It was also very leafy smelling, though I didn’t really get anything that smelled like berries.

Unfortunately it wasn’t really that appealing to me so I gave the imp to a friend. But I can definitely see it being appealing to people who like to smell like bark and leaves.. it definitely smells like those things.

Once this drys down I envision a magical forest. Beautiful . My favorite forest smell so far and I’ve tried a lot.

This came as a free imp with my purchase. Very interesting– there’s a lot of bark and “dark” scents to this one but if you really pay attention you’ll get hints of fruit! This is a complex perfume for the mature.
