Gaily bedight,
A gallant knight,
In sunshine and in shadow,
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In search of Eldorado.
But he grew old
This knight so bold
And o’er his heart a shadow
Fell as he found
No spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado.
And, as his strength
Failed him at length,
He met a pilgrim shadow
“Shadow,” said he,
“Where can it be
This land of Eldorado?”
“Over the Mountains
Of the Moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
Ride, boldly ride,”
The shade replied
“If you seek for Eldorado!”
Copal resin incense blowing through halls of dazzling gold.
Luminescent, glowing, and otherworldly: green mandarin, neroli, honeydew, white amber, guava, freesia, white and green musks hovering over desert scrub, smashed wood, and the dry, biting scent of night air over the Groom Lake salt flats.
The essence of holy Kyphi, beloved incense of the Egyptian Gods.
The pinnacle of wealth, luxury, self-indulgent pleasure, voluptuousness and sensuality.
Bright violet with sweet clove, Mediterranean incense notes and tonka bean.

On my skin this is pure, delicious, slightly bitter-medicinal root beer/sasparilla! I don’t personally get a lot of the wood notes until a few hours later on, but ymmv of course. Overall would recommend if you love the combination of sweet syrupy vanilla and bitter herbs!

Now this scent I’m surprised that I like. It’s a very attractive scent to me. When I first put it on, I couldn’t stop smelling it. And normally I’m not a fan of things with wood in it. I’d say it’s sexy. I love how it almost smells like root beer but also woodsy like a hot outdoor stud.

Wood is very strong at first, smelling a little like dead leaves on my skin, before turning sweet after a few hours. Pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

I received this as a bonus imp in a recent order and sent it to my beloved in a care package. His description: “It smells like a Black Sabbath tattoo.” Not as sweet as you’d think based on the other reviews here, but definitely taps into that rugged Old West/beautiful man on a motorcycle idea.

This scent is something marvelous. The cedar & sassafrass combine to be a casual, but very sexy scent.

I love this wet–smells so good. But the cedar note goes very ‘pencil shavings’ on me. Kathmandu does the same thing, but in a pleasant way. The cedar here just seems to overpower the rest on my skin and make me smell like an elementary school student.

My girlfriend got this one with her first order of imps. She seems on the fence about this one so I’m giving it a go.
When placed on my skin i can really smell the root beer scent over all of the others (although the cedar starts to come through quickly). After a few minutes the Cedar becomes more dominate with a warm scent layered in the background.
I only gave this 3 stars as it seems very light and I feel i have to apply more than i would with the other scents i own.

This is one of my favorite BPAL scents. The rootbeer smell is stronger right out of the bottle, but after a few minutes it mellows into a wonderful vanilla scent that’s got just enough of the rootbeer and cedar to keep it from being too sweet. And it lasts well, too.

Tombstone was a huge surprise for me. I am not typically attracted to sweeter scents, especially not vanilla. However, when the scent is on the cedar and sassafras really come to the forefront reminding me of a childhood favorite: sarsaparilla soda. With that being said, it is not overly sweet either. I cannot stop dousing myself in it. Highly recommend.
