In Irish folklore the Dana O’Shee are a fae, elven people that live in a realm of beauty, their nobility akin to our that own Age of Chivalry, eternally beautiful and eternally young. They surround themselves with the pleasures of the Arts, they live for the hunt, and to this day can be seen riding in procession through the Irish countryside at twilight, led by their King and Queen. However, the Dana O’Shee are not benevolent creatures, despite what their unearthly beauty may imply. They are vengeful and treacherous and possess a streak of mischievous malice, and many have whispered that their true home lies deep in the shadowed groves of the Realm of the Dead. Hearing even a single chord of their otherworldly music leaves one stunned and lost to the mortal realms for ever, finding themselves prey to the Dana O’Shee’s hunt or enslaved in their Court as servants or playthings.
Offerings of milk, honey and sweet grains were made to placate these creatures, and it is that the basis of the scent created in their name.
The fiery, volatile scent of cinnamon, thickened by myrrh, honeysuckle, and copal.
The Dark Side of Fire: cinnamon, bitter almond, and neroli. Heavily spiced, torrid, and possibly conflagrant.
A brace of loaded pistols
He carried night and day;
He never robbed a poor man
Upon the king’s highway;
But what he’d taken from the rich,
Like Turpin and Black Bess,
He always did divide it
With the widow in distress.
Stand and deliver! Vetiver with gardenia, blood red rose, night-blooming jasmine, a dash of cinnamon and a faint hint of leather

Reminds me of the smell of baking that lingers long after all the cookies have been eaten. Very sweet, very light. Almost a ghost-sweetness. On me it reminds of caramel, white chocolate, or perhaps vanilla. Unfortunately did not get a scent of any of the spices, but it has solid sticking power. Reminds me of Tamora quite strongly.

I’ve worn Jack for years…since my son was a toddler and he is now 20. He gets nervous if I don’t smell like Autumn because that’s “what you’re SUPPOSED to smell like, MOM!” Which I take as a compliment. My husband is also a huge fan…so I suppose I have the two men in my life mesmerized by this comforting scent. Never change, BPAL!

It’s interesting how different this smells on everyone. On me it doesn’t stay on all day but it has a really yummy scent like carnival foods. I feel like I’m surrounded by candy apples and caramel popcorn being made. I was searching for a fall, pumpkin scent but wasn’t disappointed by the way it wears.

A lot of pumpkin spice as you can imagine. however I think the peach note sets this apart from the regular sugary pumpkin scents. got this as an imp but gave it to my friend because she loved it so much. recommend getting an imp before a full bottle if you already have a lot of pumpkin spice. I can see why this scent is so popular!
amberjurg –
This is warm and sweet, and definitely a “pumpkin spice” sort of scent on me. I got an imp of this in a gift package, and it’s the whole reason I found BPAL. My one regret is that it only lasts about half an hour or so on my skin.
Wear this if you want to feel like a harvest deity.

The description for Jack is pretty spot on with the pumpkin, nutmeg, peach, and clove. I would add that it’s just a little bit nutty, in a pecan sort of way. I could smell each layer individually throughout the experience of wearing it. It lasted for about four hours on my skin before it became so subtle that it was hard to notice, and two more hours before it disappeared completely. But even so I just kept applying it. It smells really delicious and I can’t stop smelling my wrists when I wear it. A little goes a long way.
If you like gourmand scents, this may just be up your alley.
This came as an extra sample in my order and honestly it was my favorite!

Jack is delicious — the mellow pumpkin is tarted up with the juicy peach (but not in an overpowering way) and the soft waft of nutmeg and vanilla give it a sweet-ish cookie quality, but it is not cloying or overpowering. I have been using it both as a perfume and to scent up the room in a water-oil burner, and it is amazing. A classic must have.

Fall in a bottle. Fantastic.

All I can smell is yummy sweet biscuits! Not so much pumpkin, at least not distinctively, but spicy sugary dough. It’s not a bad thing, in fact it’s one of those scents that doesn’t grate on you with its overwhelming sweetness. Actually quite pleasant, but definitely food-y.

This is one of my favorites! To me it smells like home, Mama’s pumpkin pie.
Holly –
Strong & sweet! It smells like a popcorn ball heavily coated in sticky sugar.
Body chemistry wise this reacts noticeably different depending on who wears it.
On me, it’s a buttery vanilla w/a hint of spice. On my beau, it’s a strong pumpkin spice! Either way, delicious.~

I’m a huge fan of foodie scents and this one has become an instant favourite. It smells delicious and buttery (unlike any other perfume I have tried before) and dries down to a sweet, spicy scent that brings to mind baking on cozy autumn nights.
Gloame –
The Halloween of childhood, when everything is magical and warm, cozy and scary, and you could still get a Hogwarts letter on your birthday. This is delicious and honestly, I’m astounded this isn’t an LE Weenie because it’s so perfect. 5 ml for sure.
Where I’d wear it: Just home from trick-or-treating and finding a Hogwarts letter on the table

I’ve had my imp for quite some time now and just pulled it out to drop into a generic vanilla candle that’s burning in the bedroom. I dabbed some on and yup, it smells fabulous. However, it smells fabulous in the way that those gourmet, overpriced candles you’ll never actually blow that much money on smell. If I could get this as a linen/room spray I’d be all about it, but this is not a body fragrance for me.

I’m a first time buyer, and I loved how it smelled in the bottle. Unfortunately, my hand slipped when I tried to apply it and I spilled it all over my room. It isn’t a pleasant situation, but if I had to pick a scent for my room, this one works (once it has had a chance to air out).
giovanna.ortiz210 –
I really like this. In the bottle it smells like fresh baked goods, wet it smells of fresh carved pumpkins and things baking in the kitchen, and then the peach emerges from underneath and becomes the atar of the show. It ends up smelling like a peach cobbler. Not what I expected, but I really love it as a fall perfume.

Jack is one of my favorite scents. It’s sweet, warm and has a touch of spice…without being too much. I will say,it doesn’t have much staying power in me. A lot of BPAL scents linger on me until I shower…this doesn’t, but I love it enough to bring with me and reapply as needed.

I am in general a huge fan of foodie scents, and this one does not disappoint. It’s everything I love about autumn and fall foods in a vial. Will likely order a large bottle of this in the future.
Grace –
This is a lovely scent! Many of the perfumes I’ve worn had a sort of piercing quality to them, and that’s not a bad thing, but this scent has a beautiful, warm undertone rather than a sharp presence. It’s the perfect fall scent!

I ordered over 20 imps to try before buying full bottles, and I had a sneaking suspicion this would be one of my favorites… I was dead on because this is the most gorgeous smell of the entire bunch! Wet, it smells like buttered cookies (think shortbread), on the dry down comes the sweet pumpkin and nutmeg which makes this really creamy rich, scent. Once it’s dry, there’s a faint linger of the pumpkin mixed with a bit of peaches and cream. So delicious. It’s heavenly! I’ll have to purchase a full-size (or three) ASAP!

This scent is amazing. I’m totally in love. Autumn is my all time favorite season and I always have wanted a scent that captures the essence of fall. But, I’m not a huge fan of musks, ambers or patchouli because I feel like they smell really dead and grimy.
But, Jack is so juicy and amazing smelling. It’s warm and spicy while still being sweet. The peach and nutmeg almost trick your nose into thinking it’s a roasted apple. It’s not too spicy to where you can’t wear it in the summer and spring months either. Alas, I have found fall in a bottle.
KatRampant –
Lots of nutmeg, something like hazelnut, and cream. Earthy pumpkin shows up on application, followed by clove. Wet, it’s much too sweet for me. Dry, it’s actually quite wearable – a rare foodie smell that works for me!

This is a really intriguing scent. I think from some of the other reviews it may be one that reacts quite noticeably different based on body chemistry, but if you like the sound of the description, it is definitely worth a try. I was surprised (in a pleasant way) by how much the peach scent came through. As it’s starting to age I can smell the spices and the pumpkin perhaps more strongly in proportion than I did at first, but the peach is still very pleasant and authentic-smelling. The best way I can think of describing this scent is that it makes me think of the time of year when summer is transitioning to fall, and the summery and autumnal vibes and scents are sort of flirting in the air all the time…kind of soothing and stirring at the same time. Definitely in my top five.

I love the warmth and butteriness of this as well. Probably the favorite of all the imps I oredered to try. However, I have the same problem as the first reviewer in that it just does not last for more than (literally) a few minutes. I also don’t know if this is just me, but it makes me sad because I love the scent so much.
Penny Fisk –
Nice to smell if you don’t mind very “foody”, cloy smells. It smells like it is described. My problem with it is that it smells really strong when I first put it on but then lasts about five minutes before it is absorbed into my skin and dissolves into the ether. After that neither I nor others around me can smell it. Weird. Someone told me that I smelled like a Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spice Latte right after I put it on. The fact that it didn’t last at all probably has to do with my chemistry. Luckily I found Voodoo, which although it does not smell like pumpkins DOES remind me of a spiced late and best of all it lasts on me.
Symmonz –
Like a warm pumpkin pie drizzled with caramel and whipped cream. This may not be an everyday perfume for everyone, but it is one of my all time favorites. Wearing it makes me want to bake some tarts. I wear this one throughout fall and winter to get into the spirit of the the seasons.

Please bring this scent back!
I adore this scent, it is the only pumpkin scent besides “Dorian in the Pumpkin Patch” that I can wear. It is sweet, buttery, and pumpkiny, with beautiful spices.
I would order more bottles if I could.

Jack is a delicious combination of caramel, pumpkin & warm spices sweetened with hints of peach and vanilla. When wearing this scent I’ve literally turned heads and had people asking “what smells so good!?”
If you like warm, spicy, foody combinations then jack is a must try.
