La Bella Donna Della Mia Mente Perfume Oil

My limbs are wasted with a flame,
My feet are sore with traveling,
For, calling on my Lady’s name,
My lips have now forgot to sing.

O Linnet in the wild-rose brake
Strain for my Love thy melody,
O Lark sing louder for love’s sake,
My gentle Lady passeth by.

She is too fair for any man
To see or hold his heart’s delight,
Fairer than Queen or courtesan
Or moonlit water in the night.

Her hair is bound with myrtle leaves,
(Green leaves upon her golden hair!)
Green grasses through the yellow sheaves
Of autumn corn are not more fair.

Her little lips, more made to kiss
Than to cry bitterly for pain,
Are tremulous as brook-water is,
Or roses after evening rain.

Her neck is like white melilote
Flushing for pleasure of the sun,
The throbbing of the linnet’s throat
Is not so sweet to look upon.

As a pomegranate, cut in twain,
White-seeded, is her crimson mouth,
Her cheeks are as the fading stain
Where the peach reddens to the south.

O twining hands! O delicate
White body made for love and pain!
O House of love! O desolate
Pale flower beaten by the rain!

Soft, lush myrtle and dry, sweet melilot with wild rose, pomegranate juice and peach blossom against a background of deep aquatic notes and a twirl of melancholy autumn breezes.

La Bella Donna Della Mia Mente is wet and fruity to me. The only floral that really comes through at all is the rose, and it mostly just compliments the pomegranate and makes it come across a bit tart. After that it’s really just the aquatic that shines through, the other florals and plants are barely there.

Still, this is one of my favorites, pomegranate is such a wonderful note and aquatics and roses seem to work well together.

I got this as a free tester from BPAL and very glad they sent it to me! I thought I didn’t like florals but this changed my mind. It’s a very different kinda floral… sexy.

Let me start by saying I am not generally a fan of florals. So when I received this one and smelled just how floral it was, I was thinking I was going to hate it.

    I think it’s a beautiful scent.

On me, it smelled like a balance between a light pear smell and light, bright flowers. Very cheerful and springlike, both delicate and distinct. It lasted a long time on my skin and had moderate throw. I didn’t get any autumn leaves scent… I guess it’s different depending on skin chemistry.

Here’s the thing. Because bright florals aren’t my thing, I kept sniffing my arm and saying to myself, “That’s not for me. I’ll give this one away.” And then ten minutes later, I would sniff my arm again and go, “But it’s so gorgeous! Maybe I’ll keep it.” This was literally all day. I still don’t know what I’m going to do. So I guess the takeaway is if you like florals AT ALL, you’ll probably love this one. Really, I can’t praise it enough.

It’s only getting four stars because it is a bright and sweet floral, so if you don’t like that sort of scent, then it probably won’t be your thing. Also, from the description (the aquatics and the autumn breezes) I thought it would be a bolder style. Not that there’s anything wrong with what was presented, but I think the description is a little misleading.

So delicate and delightful, but not bland. I will be buying a full bottle.

This scent is perfect for September – late summer/early fall. It smells summery at first with the fruits, but then the wet leaves come in and give it an earthiness that makes me tingle with excitement for fall.

This is my favorite scent of all time, seriously. I love it, I’ve been wearing it every day since I received it in the mail. I wish I had ordered a full sized one! I will soon, though!

Honestly, to me it smells like chai tea with a lot of honey in it. Amazing. I’ve been wearing it since 6am and 12 hours later it has not faded one bit. I’m in love.

This is listed as ‘soft’ and ‘sweet’ and I can’t think of a better way to describe it. In the bottle it smells like a very fruity cocktail and flowers, but on the skin it’s very subtle, kinda like a breeze carrying the same scent from far away. It’s the sweet, light fruity-floral scent that I’ve been looking for, and my only complaint is that on my skin it’s a little TOO soft. It fades pretty quickly on me, either that or it’s too easy for me to get used to the scent, but it’s so nice while it lasts.
