A brief and succinct biography of Napoleon jumbled with the French shanty, Jean François de Nantes. Relevant to our shared interests: Napoleon was a fragrance connoisseur, and he kept a standing order with his perfumer for a delivery of fifty bottles per month.
A fresh, light Napoleonic-era cologne with hints of rosemary, almond, oakmoss, and jasmine.
The amber necklace of Freyja, Norse Goddess of Love, Sex, Attraction and Fruitfulness. Her magnificent necklace was bought from four Dwarves [Alfrik, Berling, Dvalin and Grer] at the price of four nights of her passion. When Brisingamen graces your throat, no man can resist your charms. A glittering mantle of rich golden notes: five ambers, soft myrtle, apple blossom and carnation.
“Bod,” said Silas. “This is Miss Lupescu.”
Miss Lupescu was not pretty. Her face was pinched and her expression was disapproving. Her hair was grey, although her face seemed too young for grey hair. Her front teeth were slightly crooked. She wore a bulky mackintosh, and a man’s tie around her neck.
“How do you do, Miss Lupescu?” said Bod.
Miss Lupescu said nothing. She sniffed. Then she looked at Silas and said, “So. This is the boy.” She got up from her seat and walked all around Bod, nostrils flared, as if she were sniffing him. When she had made a complete circuit, she said, “You will report to me on waking, and before you go to sleep. I have rented a room in a house over there.” She pointed to a roof just visible from where they stood. “However, I shall spend my time in this graveyard. I am here as a historian, researching the history of old graves. You understand, boy? Da?”
“Bod,” said Bod. “It’s Bod. Not boy.”
“Short for Nobody,” she said. “A foolish name. Also, Bod is a pet name. A nickname. I do not approve. I will call you ‘boy’. You will call me ‘Miss Lupescu’.”
Bod looked up at Silas, pleadingly, but there was no sympathy on Silas’s face. He picked up his bag and said, “You will be in good hands with Miss Lupescu, Bod. I am sure that the two of you will get on.”
“We won’t!” said Bod. “She’s horrible!”
“That,” said Silas, “Was a very rude thing to say. I think you should apologise, don’t you?”
Bod didn’t, but Silas was looking at him and he was carrying his black bag, and about to leave for no-one knew how long, so he said, “I’m sorry Miss Lupescu.”
At first she said nothing in reply. She merely sniffed. Then she said, “I have come a long way to look after you, boy. I hope you are worth it.”
Animalic musk, with amber, patchouli, ho wood, cypress, almond blossom, golden sandalwood, and strange spices.
minikadomi –
I rested this perfume for a month but on my skin it’s just sweet bubblegum + almond. I wish this was more complex.
Raechel Altieri –
When I first apply this to the skin, it smells very floral. The lotus really comes through. When it calms down, the almond really comes through strongly. It smells almost coconutty on my skin.
santi_life13 –
Warm, sweet almond and saffron. The amber, myrrh, and musk lend a sensual creaminess that clings close to the skin without going animalic. Bastet feminine, comforting, and just cozy. A gorgeous blend… I’m definitely getting a full size of this one.
CarolineCarnivorous –
Warm and exotic. A bit sweeter when I open the bottle and on my skin, the almond seems to be brought forward, then the lotus, making it more sweet and flowery. Hours later it becomes warmer and spicier, but it’s pretty weak. Not a new favorite, although nice.
jsauls128 –
Heady and delicious. Smells like warmth in winter.
Carissa Stephens –
This is one of my new favorite scents. It lasts, and that’s one of the things I look out for. It lasts for a decent amount of time, and it still smells amazing as it fades. It’s warm, spicy, and slightly floral.
gfeltovich –
Ambery and warm. A dry, spiced almond; definitely reminds me of the desert. It’s almond-y, but not too sweet, almost herbal— interesting!
BellaLugosi –
A very warm but complex, feminine smell for me. Like it very much! First wet on the skin this gives me a sweet vanilla-lotiony scent but dries very quickly and becomes a bit spicier and more complex, the vanilla fading to a barely noticeable minimum and an elegant, embery, calming but not dulling scent staying all day. Wore it to work at the museum in the egyptian collection and it made for a very nice all-senses kinda way experience. Might order a full size, really adore it!
Belladonna –
This is all amber and musk. Warm and sweet. There’s a slight spicyness, but I don’t smell any almond or florals. Overall I’d say it’s a gentle perfume that smells intriguing without being overwhelmingly strong. I’d say it lasted on my skin for about 6 hours, but I enjoyed it the entire time. Bastet smells like warm sands and Egyptian sunsets to me.
Lauren Holt –
Stunning. All the warmth of a cats purr and a dirty chai latte. Warms beautifully on the skin. I’m in love.
Andrea Beres –
Soft, warm, and sweet. An everyday scent.
But fades quickly on me.
Lauren Messenger –
This is a powerful, warm, and comforting scent. It’s comforting and compelling but not sweet, at all. The almond, amber, and musk notes come through most clearly. Makes me think of curling up by a fireplace, in the winter, with a book and a mug of tea.

Huge snowstorm here in upstate New York in February (not unexpected, it is upstate New York). Had to shovel to get out of my house, ugh. Then after shoveling and showering and hot beverage I had to go food shopping. On a whim, I put this scent on (it was a frimp) and immediately felt warm and cozy. The cinnamon and cardamon are initially strong but die down within a half hour, leaving a warm spiciness behind laced with amber. A very warm scent, I don’t know that I’d wear this in the summer because of the warmth it invokes in me, but during the snowy winters and even our damp springs, I love this.
Claire –
This starts out fresher than I anticipated and then softens into something a little softer and deeper. I like it; it has a calming effect overall.
xancanfly –
Smells like sweet almonds to me. It’s a lovely, feminine, soft scent. The only issue is that, for me, it literally smells faintly for about half an hour then vanishes. So i will either have to constantly reapply, or only smell good for a little bit. Though it might just be my skin.
jhooper12 –
I got this as a freebie with my order which was great because I had debated buying this one. I was hoping to like it but it just doesn’t do anything for me. When wet it reminds me of a much milder version of Cathedral, the smokiness not as strong as Cathedral. After a few hours it becomes more of a floral scent. I don’t mind wearing it but I wouldn’t purchase it again.

Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” in a bottle.

Wet she’s a blast of almondy sweetness…drying down though, Bastet really wins my heart. It’s indescribable really. I used to wear Egyptian musk as a single note, and while I can recognize it here it is SO much more sophisticated: Clean, yet sweet, soft, slightly powdery. The lotus is sweet but not bublegummy like it can be (thank the gods). The saffron…spicy amber with the sweet…a magical, soft yet powerful skin scent. The scent just radiates golden light.
ETA: This blend has become very special to me. My cats obviously love it-they come over and get some lovin’ consistently when I wear it. I have also used it in ritual work and when wee kitties have passed. I’m very thankful for this one.
Mija –
This scent always makes me feel powerful, sensual, warm. Love it and so does my husband.
Jadeah –
the scent of the woman which knows how to seduce men. the scent of a true priestess, I feel Im a witch when I wear it. Hot, powerful and mature.
Zoe –
This is a huge confidence-boosting scent for me. Feminine and powerful, it manages to have a delicate, warm presence while still feeling unapologetic and solar/radiating. In my imagination, this is what Beyonce smells like.
Rebecca –
This is a scent i wear when i’m feeling need of comforting. It is
The amber is soothing and warming. Love wearing it.
Erin –
A very warm and pleasant scent. Definitely one of my favorites that I’ve ordered.

Resinous yet soft with focus on the amber, myrrh and spice. The feminine counterpart of Anubis on my skin, lighter, with not as much staying power or throw. Very pleasant and a good option for those who love Anubis bur are seeking something a bit lighter.
Velvet Lilly –
Gently warm, comforting and delicious. Almond leads here, blending beautifully with the amber and cardamom to give it a sort of creamy soft spiciness.
This is gorgeous.
ann –
very sensual, warm, embracing…like a purring cat. soft fur, with a memory of sharp claws.
