   I received this as a frimp ages ago and after using the entire thing finally decided to order a full size. This is hands down one of my favorite scents from BPAL, somehow clean and dusty at the same time, a scent that manages to conjure images of burning bibles in a church. Please never stop selling this perfume so I can smell like this forever.

   I never would have thought to buy something like this and I am pleasantly surprised. Got it as an imp with my order. From the bottle: leather, sage, musk, floral notes. On my skin: warmer and almost caramel leather and musk and something almost herbal. It definitely sweetens on my skin but most scents do that with my skin chemistry. It’s very soft and regal. Silk and leather. Not too floral which I like. I’m not a very floral person and florals tend to go soapy on me. Feels fancy so I’d definitely wear this to a nice dinner or event. It does seem to fade quickly, the only downside.

   I’m hertbroken this is out of stock. Received this as a frimp with my first order, & knew this would be my smell. As it has aged over the months it has taken on a spice wood smell. First impression was a musky, sweet, light wood smell. It has turned more complex! Fades into a shadow of trees with new leaves growing, & sweetness.

   I have been using this for a number of years as my winter and fall scent. The description is right on but, as some others have said, the lingering scent has sweetness. I am consistently complimented on the scent when I wear it.

   I want to rate this a 4 and a half..it smells really royal,regal,bold and sexy; with a bit of a yummy edge to it like you wanna lick it smelling straight from the imp (i think its the vanilla). So immediately i wanna slather it on my wrist and you know..after 30 minites it like, the cedar keeps getting stronger and more forefront…im looking at the notes again because im taking a double take (or should i say a double sniff?) Because im assuming its the lavender, starting to add this strange twang thats reminding me of semen..maybe like lavender clorox smell with like damp driftwood. So..final impression; smells like someone splattered their semen onto some damp wood looking over a river but standing moreso in the foresty area…next to a sage bush (its starting to come out as i write this review) its pleasant, its a pleasant scenery. I like it but i wasnt expecting that. Im fascinated and i cant stop sniffing myself. Royal deprivity ?

   My skin is making this do something completely different than I am reading in most of the other reviews. Out of the vial, I do smell the cedar and sage which is the main reason I purchased this scent as I wanted something woodsy but not like I rolled around in hamster bedding. The second I put it on my skin, well, people have told me I smell like cookies. Now, this isn’t a bad thing at all and I do actually love the almost Snickerdoodle scent I give off when I wear this but it’s night and day from what I expected based on what I can smell in the bottle. My skin really holds onto the vanilla above all else (as reviewer Toni mentioned) and it morphs into a very feminine scent.

   I got this as a free imp. I was very intrigued by this one. It’s more of a masculine scent, but I could still definitely wear it. The initial smell when it’s wet is the cedar and leather, kind of smoky with a bit of the vanilla swirled in there. When its dry it ends up sweeter but very subtle. I can mostly smell the vanilla, a tiny bit of the lavender, with some of the leather smell left over. The lavender does not show up much on me.

    This smells amazing. A balance of smokiness, musk, & sweetness to keep it from smelling like a country man’s cologne. Provokes masculine, lusty imagery. I prefer sweeter, girlish scents for myself but I want to get a big bottle of this just because of how sexy it is!

    I got this one as a free imp and I’m glad I got to try it.
    In the bottle I smelled mostly wood/fir. On my skin it went straight to vanilla. But it smelled incredible on my friend, warm and clean and slightly sweet, and I had to give it to him.
    I definitely get the antichrist reference.

    I think I’m in love. In the bottle I get a well balanced blend of vanilla, wood, and dry herbs. On me, the leather notes start to peak out and this softens to something akin to Morocco but spicier and less sweet, IMO more interesting. On my husband this smells COMPLETELY different and becomes a warm, woodsy, green smell with a tinge of smoke. It’s equally wonderful and avoids being to “piney” like some of the cedar perfumes. Either smell would work for a guy, but I might abscond with this one on occasion. LOOOVE.

    A slightly spicy and warm yet clean unisex blend but tending slightly toward the masculine. A very assertive and regal scent.

    Out of the vial: cedar and sage with hints of lavendar.

    Wet on me: it morphs alot while it dries with the notes seemingly battling for dominance, very fitting given the theme.

    Dry: vanilla and leather, I wasn’t expecting it to be so soft in the end. I really like this one!

    A nice dark perfume with a hint of smoke and wood. I love wearing it and it is definitely for someone who enjoys the darker side of life (like gothic literature).
