Perfume oil blends. Presented in an amber apothecary glass vial. Because of the nature of this project, imps are unavailable.
350 bottles were created for each scent, and when they’re gone, they’re gone.
Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab is thrilled to present a series of scents based on Jim Jarmusch’s critically acclaimed film and soundtrack, ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE.
ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE tells the tale of two fragile and sensitive vampires, Adam (Tom Hiddleston) and Eve (Tilda Swinton), who have been lovers for centuries. Both are cultured intellectuals with an all-embracing passion for music, literature and science, who have evolved to a level where they no longer kill for sustenance, but still retain their innate wildness.
Adam, a reclusive underground musician hiding out in the ruins of contemporary Detroit, despairs about human civilization’s decline, and worries about future survival.Eve, who is perhaps 3000 years old to Adam’s 500, takes a longer view of history and is more optimistic. She leaves her home in the ancient city of Tangier to come to his side.
As blood has been tainted by the zombies (humans), the formerly immortal Adam and Eve must secure uncontaminated blood from hospitals or they will perish. Eve’s close friend, Elizabethan dramatist and unacknowledged author of Shakespeare’s plays—Christopher Marlowe (John Hurt), is now an elder vampire who provides Eve with hospital blood. Adam gets his supply from Dr. Watson (Jeffrey Wright), a skittish hematologist who provides safe blood at a price.
Adam and Eve’s precarious footing is further threatened by the uninvited arrival of Eve’s carefree and uncontrollable little sister Ava (Mia Wasikowska). Unlike Adam and Eve, Ava hasn’t yet learned to tame her wilder instincts, and her recklessness concerns Adam.
Driven by sensual photography, trance-like music, and droll humor, Jim Jarmusch’s ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE is a meditation on art, science, memory, and the mysteries of everlasting love.
Jim Jarmusch has long been considered a seminal figure in American independent cinema. His films are often noted for their transcendent minimalism and upturning of traditional genres such as the road movie, western, crime-film, and detective story. Born in Akron, Ohio, Jarmusch lives and works in New York.

Oh my goodness is Streets of Detroit ever a winner!
It’s sexy, musky, and–yes–smells like motol oil. I love how it even looks the color of clean oil when it comes out of the bottles. That vicsious yellow oil on your skin.
As an added note–It totally reminds me of an old love who used to work in the automotive industry and would come home smelling of oil and grease and cologne.
This stuff lasts all day long on me and has amazing through. It’s pretty much perfect and in my Top 10 for sure.

To me, this scent is perfection. My goal is to little by little, buy the remaining bottles that the lab has 🙂

Streets of Detroit is a huffable, sex-in-a-bottle scent. When first applied there’s the motor oil note. The amazing genius that Beth is, she captured the scent of motor oil in a bottle and made it totally wearable! As Streets dries down the motor oil vanishes and another magical thing happens…it turns into the most sexy incense-y heaven ever. I purchased one bottle and had to get a backup because one just was not enough. The entire OLLA series is a true work of beauty and genius. Streets is quite probably my favorite (or tied for favorite, it’s a tough call!).

There are surprises hidden in these bottles, like two scents in one.
It goes on Thick and yellow…..motor oil!
And then that note and the oil subsumes into your skin….and pocus-cadabra…..a whole new scent emerges.
For me, who amps sweetness, it turned into warm, sweet, hints of yellow magic, perhaps it’s the myrrh that’s liking my skin so much, a light skin-musky comfort.
Here’s how good it is. I left the shop, then turned around and raced back for a bottle of this because it kept singing to me on my arm. I got several bottles. I Love this.

I applied before bedtime and it is still present on my inner arm this morning! The oil is a dark brown color. First applied, I “get” the motor oil, not harsh, but just a quick whiff. The motor oil note, whatever it is, doesn’t burn my nose or smell like the burning tires blast I initially get from my 2005 Devil’s Night. Then, the rest of the time this is a beautiful musk scent on me. Now my skin loves all musk except white musk, and this is no exception. Black musk never gives me the lemony note that so many describe and this black musk is almost a blend of black, Siberian, with a hint of red musk sweetness thrown in for good measure. I think the myrrh is so well blended with the musk that it sweetens it on my skin. I get a very beautiful dark ride in a classic car, late on a hot night, with musky overtones from the heat of two lovers’ skin just beading into a swirl of dark sexiness. I LOVE IT!
