The essence of magickal enigmas and long-forgotten esoteric mysteries. Frankincense, rosemary, lavender, neroli, and verbena.
I grieve and dare not show my discontent,
I love and yet am forced to seem to hate,
I do, yet dare not say I ever meant,
I seem stark mute but inwardly do prate.
I am and not, I freeze and yet am burned,
Since from myself another self I turned.
My care is like my shadow in the sun,
Follows me flying, flies when I pursue it,
Stands and lies by me, doth what I have done.
His too familiar care doth make me rue it.
No means I find to rid him from my breast,
Till by the end of things it be supprest.
Some gentler passion slide into my mind,
For I am soft and made of melting snow;
Or be more cruel, love, and so be kind.
Let me or float or sink, be high or low.
Or let me live with some more sweet content,
Or die and so forget what love ere meant.
Inspired by the tragic, ill-fated love of Queen Elizabeth I and the Earl of Leicester. This is our modernization of a 17th-century perfume blend favored by British aristocracy: rosemary, orange flower, grape spirit, five rose variants, lemon peel, and mint.
In Hermetic alchemy, brimstone is one of the Three Heavenly Substances, one of the primary alchemical Principles It represents the strength of will and the vigor of passion, and it is a symbol of the process of fermentation. A smoky, gritty blend, husky and gray.
“The Pretty Era”, France’s Golden Time: an age of beauty, innovation and peace in France that lasted from the 19th Century through the first World War and gave birth to the cabaret, the cancan, and the cinema as well as the Impressionist and Art Nouveau movements. Sweet opium, Lily of the Valley, vanilla, mandarin and red sandalwood.

Musky lemon verbena. I always worry about lemony perfumes smelling like cleaning products, but this was not the case 🙂 Probably because of the verbena, which dominates this blend, and the supporting white flowers.
It feels unisex, full and rich without being overwhelming. Not too bitter, not too sweet. The fruitier aspect goes away after an hour or so, leaving a darker, musky-floral scent that tickles… It’s a lantern-lit garden on a summer night.
A similar scent would be Katharina, but they’re siblings, not twins. Katharina would be the orange sister, Zephyr would be the yellow brother… Does that make sense?
It’s incredibly long lasting on me (12+hrs and I can still smell the musky citrusy sandalwood). Decent throw, comparable to Katharina and Endymion (their pear-green cousin).

This makes me smell of freshly squeezed lemonade wafting on a summer seaside wind – airy, fresh, and magical. It’s not something I’d normally wear but I very much enjoyed trying this frimp!

This reminds me of those fragrant, floral soaps you can buy from fancy perfumeries. Actually, it also reminds me of the general smell of a perfumery – all those different heady fragrances that people test by spraying them onto themselves or into the air. It’s too intense and flowery for me, but I suspect my mother will like it (she enjoys bold perfumes). I can’t pick up much of the lemony notes once it dries, just a bouquet of white flowers with a backdrop of musk that a wealthy, feminine lady might douse herself with. It’s not bad, it’s just not my taste at all.

Initially sharp but dries down to a yummy, musky citrus. Sexy and innocent at the same time. I have received a lot of compliments on this and people ask me what I’m wearing. It really works with my chemistry so I guess I could say it’s my signature scent.

I received this as a sample and when I did some detective work and found the description and review I had to laugh. “Erotic powder”, that’s exactly how it smells on me. I only get powder, nothing else. My boyfriend asked “What smells like laundry?” after I put it on. Not what I was going for.

When dried, Zephyr smells like erotic powder on my skin.
It’s so light though, I have to sniff my wrists to pick up any scent.
It is okay, but I don’t like it as much or better than my current favorites.
I could see this smelling amazing on the right person though!
