Cranberry Bog 2022
The Narragansett people cultivated cranberries and poultices of macerated cranberries were employed to help heal wounds and dye fabrics. In the 17th century, cranberries were also called “bearberries” because… bears ate them.
(I reckon a lot of berries are bearberries. Anything can be a bearberry, probably.)
I did not know any of this until I started crafting the cranberry update a year or so ago. You learn something new every day here at BPAL. Truth be told, I don’t have anything particularly deep to say about cranberries; I just wanted an excuse to make some cranberry perfumes.
